Besides Steve Clinkscale Michigan is also pursuing Roy Manning
It's being reported that Steve Clinkscale is the first coach Michigan went after with the departure of Mo Linguist. But also they are pursuing Roy Manning, CBs coach at Oklahoma.
Roy Manning has brought clear cut improvement wherever he has coached. This is from his bio at Oklahoma's footbal website:
Clinkscale, Manning, both seem like good choices.
Anyone have inside information on which is better?
I always liked Roy Manning, but his career didn't seem to take off and he hasn't been able to move up the ranks. Although I think he'd do a good job, Clinkscale definitely seems like the hotter commodity. I hope we make something happen fast.
This would be good news, both solid choices. I would lean to the better recruiting record.
Clinkscale is not coming, he is using this as a pay increase. Go with a good recruiter who can also relate to creating a great backfield
