Beat Wisconsin, End the World - Satire
"Wisconsin Must Beat Michigan to Save the World
The planet is under siege — but it pauses Saturday night as the 4-1 Badgers face the 5-1 Wolverines"
Nothing earth shattering but I think the tone of the article would be appreciated here. Actually goes on to complement UM more than insult, and has quite a few funny B1G references.
Here are a few witty outtakes for example:
"All I know is there are a lot of Wolverines around here who think they know everything and get together on the weekends to make Urban Meyer jokes."
"Wait: I’m hearing Northwestern does have sports. Sorry!"
"Alabama decided to play with a quarterback this season, and it’s just unfair."
"It isn’t impossible. It could happen. It’s also possible my cat could master the art of French cooking and win the lottery."

I apologize(but not sincerely) if this was already posted. I didn't expect a witty article out of the WSJ, but thought it was worth a share and made my afternoon as I'm waiting for a work call.

Seeing something like this felt … oddly familiar. Let's ask the internet -- survey says:

IIRC - he's a Badger who is using his profile to elevate the famed Michigan-Wisconsin football rivalry [citation needed]

Do people still refer to the khakis? That feels so 2016...like his intro.

Usually the Michigan editors respond in kind: https://www.wsj.com/articles/a-rebuttal-to-jason-gay-1475245637
I, for one, am glad to have so many alumni to warrant such a reaction from the lone Badger.

Any way to get around the subscription paywall?

Blasphemy.

That paper hasn't been worth paying for since the Bancroft family sold it.

If you search in Google by the title of the article and click on the article in the results, you won't see the paywall. You can try the link below and click on the first result.
