Aly Raisman's mom eviscerates Tom Izzo

Title speaks for itself.  Freep link:

Dear Tom Izzo,
I'm sorry it's been a difficult week for you. Did you hear, Larry Nassar also said it was difficult. Since you "hope the right person was convicted" I wonder if you are a complete and total MORON or just a LIAR when you claim you listened to the impact statements. https://twitter.com/chrissolari/status/954551566970904576

Just keep digging..... They are losing public opinion by remaining silent, and losing it even more when they speak. The first one to fall on their sword gets the least reprocussions, and probably a little grace. To remain silent, or speak to support those in power at the University, and you are going to lose big time. Doesn’t matter what your job title is there. They may burn it all down around them the way they are going. Incredible.

is clearly more than a bystander. He’s got skin in the game not only what he owes the people responsible for his big salary, and reputation the school his legacy is tied to but something deeper and more direct he’s in denial of.

This wreaks of a cover up at the highest level.

Everyone in this athletic department has been together for so long that they'll gladly go down with the ship.

I wondered how bad the cult mentality actually was when I read about the MSU psychologist who brought accusers to Larry Nassar. Now I know that it's everyone. They're all ready to lie to protect their friends.

What he said wasn’t a well thought out “statement”. If he hadn’t made the “if right person” gaffe, this is a non-story. It DOES call into question whether he watched any impact statements because it’s so “WTF!?”. Izzo supporting Simon isn’t ridiculous since he’s known her for dozens of years. He just needed to simply highlight how this ordeal is contrary to everything she has said/done (from his POV) over that period and left it at that. Look, I think Izzo is a whiny punk. And trying to address something this sensitive in a post game presser was a mistake. He should have been prepped by the dept to answer an inevitable question with a short and clear answer. But that’s where it ends for me. I know the internet mob always wants heads to roll. Maybe - I said maybe- Simon IS a good and caring person who never turned a blind eye. Or maybe she is culpable. Time will tell. Those assholes that said it was OK for Nassar to continue molesting children? How do THEY still have jobs? (Assuming some still do) #freeTomIzzo #kidding!

report prepared.

She's turned more than a blind eye. There have been many statements by her saying she couldn't have known because people like Nassar are so good at hiding. Either she knew long ago what was going on and covered it up or had her head so far up her ass so she wouldn't know.

It's like Penn State, too many people were talking about the "crotch doctor" to have any possiblity that this wasn't known throughout MSU administration. Not documenting isn't the same as not knowing.

As far as I know the only person MSU has fired over this (other than potentially Nassar himself) is the whistleblower nurse who told MSU police that Nassar was seeing patients without another adult present after being told not to.

It's seriously hard to get fired at MSU, you either have to be a whistleblower or, I guess Nassar and finally get caught by the media.

Tom Izzo has turned a blind eye to rapists on his team. Why would anyone expect him to do/day the right thing in this case. Besides the Nasser thing the MSU athletic department has a long and sordid history on this front. Izzo is obviously not the only one.
