Not surprising due the fact that one of the major training facilities/programs for figure skating is in Michigan. That's why a lot of them seemed to come from Kzoo, Okemos, AA, etc.

As for the people who said South Korea was an odd place to host the Olympics? I mean, Korea is like 70% mountains. I dont think it's odd at all.  How about Sochi? Sochi Russia is a summer beach resort. Not typically a skiing diestination. If I remember correctly, the events were located really far from Sochi and it kind of sucked.
