ACE: 247Sports Ranks Michigan's Class #3 in Country
Michigan is third in 24/7's team rankings behind Texas and Alabama, with the three spotlighted recruits being Kalis, Magnuson, and Wormley. Their (brief) analysis:
Brady Hoke’s first full year on the recruiting trail has yielded strong early returns, particularly in both Michigan and Ohio.
Like I said, brief.

Always good to see this strong start. More interested how the numbers hold up when National Signing Day rolls around and recruits are re-evaluated and rankings change.
Still, being up there with Texas and Alabama with the struggles that have gone on recently is impressive.

It's interesting reading the comments at the bottom from one of their analysts: this ranking is made by using just the top 17 recruits committed for each school that has more than 17, meaning we have "the #3 top 17 in the country". They state the reason they chose 17 is that 17 per class for 5 years gives you an 85-man roster. Additionally, they may expand it to 20 at a later date in the recruiting calendar.
Using the methodology on other sites would likely bring us an aggregate class of #1 at this point. I thought this was worth mentioning and at least we have a general idea how our best 17 stack up.

Good point. While the class is definitely larger than many others, its depth should not be denied. I'd take this group against virtually anyone else's, which is incredibly impressive given the past couple of years.

doesnt really matter at this point because michigan has way more committments than most other teams.

Except 24/7 used only the top 17 recruits in each school's class to calculate their first set of rankings, so it gives you a general idea where we'll end up.
