3.5 Days Out - Rain in the Forecast

Submitted by smotheringD on November 22nd, 2022 at 11:24 PM

NOAA says weather forecasts are 80% accurate 7 days out and 90% accurate 5 days out.

So the odds are pretty good that we're going to have a slobberknocker in the rain.  And a 9 mph wind is a decent breeze as well.

I do think the weather will not matter. I also think policing conversations on a blog where you are not a mod is troll behavior.

Hoping for a solid showing. Go Blue!

It's going to be a nice day in Columbus. I get the infatuation with the weather, but it won't matter. It will be low 50's, no rain, and little wind through 3-4pm...maybe later...or maybe a little mist after 2 or so. The rain keeps getting pushed off. You are going to have 2018, 2016, etc. weather. Cloudy, gloomy, little mist here and there, maybe a little rain later but not much overall and generally a mild fall day.

Go get em! F*** the weather.

The weather may be a factor - and, whether it's dry and sunny, or not - Michigan has the potential to win the game.  The formula is what is always is - ball security - quality of execution - one play, game, and series at a time.  The next game is this Saturday.

But, since this thread is about weather - one critical factor is "how" you receive your weather information.   The web makes it easier- the Weather Channel and Accuweather are two outlets.

I'm old school, and prefer traditional weather broadcasting.   Some of the following are, IMO, worth considering.

I live near Delaware OH (27 miles from OSU) and just watched Channel 6 - ABC and they're calling for temps around 51 with rain later in the day - after 4:00 or so. Of course, subject to change

Yeah, I don't think we need to put so much emphasis on the weather. Just show up and play as hard as you can. And I don't think a little bit of rain/snow will really slow them down, but I think some wind might be helpful for Michigan. But, who cares? Just beat the shit out of them.

Toledo weather who seems to feel so strongly about the game that they’ve coined it “the border battle” instead of “the game”, almost like “fetch”. Says maybe rain late afternoon. Either way, weather means shit….just win!

I don’t care if it’s 72 and not a cloud in the sky. Please, oh please just find a way to win.

I don’t care if Moody scores all of our points and it’s a 15-12 field goal slopfest. Just please win. How it happens, in this game, is completely irrelevant to me. Let the talking heads worry about the how.

All we should care about is if it happens or not.

Last evening NOAA's forecast office out of Wilmington OH had a 40% of rain and partly sunny skies for the game.

As of this morning, they have a 30% of rain after 1PM and mostly cloudy.

Don't anybody get hopes up for a wet forecast. IMO: Rain is very unlikely anytime Saturday before 8 or 9 PM.
