2016 5-star RB Kareem Walker (NJ) confirmed he'll visit Michigan next week
Wayne (NJ) DePaul Catholic 2016 five-star running back Kareem Walker confirmed to Wolverine247 that he will be visiting Ann Arbor sometime next week.
Walker was Michigan's first running back offer in the cycle, and the Wolverines were one of the first programs to extend him a scholarship. Cornerbacks coach Roy Manning has worked for a while to get Walker up to campus, and it looks as if his efforts are going to pay off.
The only consensus five-star running back in the 2016 cycle, Walker holds scholarship offers from almost every major university in the country, including Florida State, Alabama, USC, Auburn, Ohio State and Notre Dame. His Crystal Ball currently reads in favor of the Crimson Tide, but Walker has claimed no leaders.

This Manning guy....I like him.
Well, that got weird quickly.
I imagine that is a reference to James Franklin's comment about only hiring assistants with hot wives because you know they can recruit.
Roy Manning drives a Bentley. Saw it at the Schembechler Hall parking lot in his "Reserved for Manning" parking spot when walking out.
/Totally not creepy bro
their car leases are paid for as part of their contract. also there are a number of auto dealers in the area that donate car leases for the coaching staff. for example, hoke also gets 2 cars (it's in his contract).
Makes sense since Hoke's car was a Tahoe with a dealer plate.
A freaking Bentley? I s'pose coaches can drive whatever the fuck they want, but that screams way too much conspicuous bling to me. I'd expect that out at USC.
Wow, really? If you're able to acquire something of status such as a Bentley, should I comdemn you becuase you can? The means don't justify the end, but my assumption is that we are not the SEC. I'm pretty sure Manning has put his dues in being a player and coach on the highest level, why hate? Anyone can get a Bentley if they have the dough, connections to obtain one. Are you questioning his ethics?
That he's taking money to steer recruits to Michigan?
Mint?
A booster said, "Roy, ever driven a Bentley? How'd you like to take one for the weekend?"
Looks as though he will visit MSU on the same trip. Link ($). Not sure about OSU.
The visit is encouraging. But the unholy trinity offers from Bama, Auburn and USC never seems to work out for us.
Don't count the in-state power RUTGERS out!
BEHOLD THE STATE OF RUTGERS!
doesn't have that much humidity. Alabama, heck yes.
Then earthquakes and wildfires?
(It's still fucking gorgeous, but shhhhh...don't tell Kareem)
I spent eight years in LA, half of them close to the USC campus downtown. The microclimate in that area is dominated by hot, dry Santa Ana conditions and particularly bad air pollution due to inversion layers from roughly July through October. Some days there are official health advisories to stay indoors and avoid exertion.
On the bright side, winter can be nice, especially just after a rain when the air is clean. And most earthquakes aren't noticeable.
This is a massive exaggeration. I've lived in LA for 8 years now myself, and you can knock anything you want about CA, but the weather is perfect. Sure, there are smoggy days. But I've never once heard of people staying indoors or avoiding exertion (and they certainly don't listen). It's rarely too hot (except in certain valley areas, but nowhere a college kid would live), it's never below 50 during daylight in the winter, there's no humidity and no mosquitos.
The traffic certainly sucks, but that's also in the category of "things college kids don't worry about."
I've lived in LA for almost 20 years now, since I left Ann Arbor. I can't remember the last time we had such an advisory.
Also I work at USC. Traffic doesn't really affect the students, as most of them live on or next to campus, which continues to improve -- Downtown LA is going through a huge rennaissance and new construction projects near campus are bringing more new commerce and community.
Alerts are automatic when the Air Quality Index is "Very Unhealthy." Active, healthy adults and children are advised to avoid outdoor exertion. Los Angeles also had 83 days when the AQI was "Unhealthy." That means everyone experiences adverse health effects, and active, healthy adults and children are advised to avoid strenuous or prolonged exertion. Remember, the pollutants doing the greatest harm aren't the visible ones. Most of that crud will be trapped in the upper airways. It's the chemicals and small particles, which get sucked deep in the lungs, that are truly nasty. And the more you exercise, the more you breathe in.
Not sure about Auburn but Mason Cole had offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Stanford, and USC (among others) and that worked out nicely. But yes, your point about competing with USC and Bama is a good one.
... USC, Auburn, OSU, ND, Florida, etc., ... and, of course, Bama--which was the source of much panicking.
Coming out of NJ winters and playing in warm weather might not be such a big deal. Manning is the MANning.
Yeah, except for Derrick Green (#1 RB 2 yrs ago) and Jabrill Peppers (#1 CB and from NJ) among a number of other players on our roster.
For those who downvoted, obviously Clark here doesn't have much good will, but he could be right in this case:
But then what will we call morons?
Damn, first ever double-post.
Sorry for the downvote, but I just wanted to make sure your first double-post experience was a complete one. And what's a double-post without downvotes??
Get J-Real in his ear and we have a shot. There are so many reasons to be excited about Jabrill being on the team, but his ability to recruit other NJ elite players is probably the biggest. It's also the ONLY good thing about adding Rutgers to the conference, as you can promise the kid that he'll play close to home twice in his career.
Is the above picture of Walker or Walker's father? Because that's one of the oldest looking high school 10th graders I've seen.
