Utah. The scoreboard would like to have a word with you by that logic.

Stanford is ranked ahead of NW. The scoreboard would like to have a word with you by that logic.

Can't use H2H result when you have to look at the body of work. NW's best win is much, much better than Michigan's best win which is an unranked BYU or a ranked NW. NW's best win is a top 10 Stanford team.  Plus NW lost 2 games as opposed to 3 games that Michigan lost this season.

They have some solid wins on their resume with Stanford, Wisconsin, and Duke. Their wins look better than ours, both of their losses are to top 15 teams, and they have one fewer loss. On paper, that looks pretty good, but watching them and looking at the advanced stats, Michigan is clearly the better team.

Good god you are all arguing in fucking circles about a meaningless 14 vs 15 ranking and "mehhh, we should he ahead of them". NW is ahead of us...so be it. Ya know, records do matter. We have THREE losses now. Anyway, it's not a big deal...we would still het picked over them for whatever bowl we're all eligible for.

MSU beat them and has wins against Oregon and Michigan. OSU has only one win against a ranked team.

I don't understand why OSU players are talking smack about Alabama's schedule when their strength of schedule is terrible.

Bama has wins against Wisconsin, Ole Miss, LSU, Tennessee and probably Florida.

OSU has wins over Michigan and...Penn State?

Can't tell if serious?   MSU has a win against a top 10 team and a top 15 team on the road and a OOC win against against a top 16 team.  OSU has one win against a top 15 team and a whole lot of nothing. Their second best win is Penn State.

The real crime is how is Bama still ranked 2?  They have a resume almost as bad as OSU.  Their best win is Miss State and their second best is LSU which probably shouldn't be ranked but is.  Their third best is....Wisconsin?   Oklahoma, MSU, Iowa should be pissed that Bama is ranked above them.

NC over Clemson, Florida over Bama, USC over Stanford, and Iowa over MSU in 18 OTs. They would be forced to declare the Big Ten the greatest conference ever, and it would be #1: Iowa, #2: MSU, #3 OSU(ytosu), #4: Michigan. As you know, double negatives cancel, so 2 v 3 cancel each other out, thus leaving Iowa vs Michigan for the National Championship!

4,5,6, 14, and 15

according to these rankings, the B1G is the strongest conference and likely to stay that way.  I don't see anyone falling below 15

also, unlikely as it is, if Alabama loses, then the SEC probably won't send a team to the college football playoff and the B1G might send two teams

we could move up anywhere between 14 and 9, depending on what other teams do ahead of us?

Who thought Harbaugh would have us near a top 10 team during his first season. I was thinking 8-4 with a bowl win would get us in the 25 to 16 ranking before the season started.

This is fucking awesome compared to where we were sitting a year ago with essentially the same squad + Rudock and Peppers.  God Damn Harbaugh Rules.  This is the beginning of our climb.  Sky is the limit my friends.

Don't know if this was mentioned below, but if we were still in the BCS era, I'm assuming the championship game right this moment would be Clemson vs uhhh Iowa? They're the only two undefeated P5 teams. Talk about a horrible way to determine a "champion". We should all be grateful that we at least have some form of a playoff. Although I'm hoping it goes to 8 teams as soon as possible.
