MGoTarot Reading: Indiana 2023

MGoTarot is a fun predictive tool that I started after the Covid season to see if the cards were more interesting than the football. Thus began one of the great runs of Michigan football. The tarot card readings turned out to be amazingly accurate and insightful in revealing the outcomes and energies of each game.

The approach is a standard 3 card spread showing elements of the past, the present, and the future outcome. I do the reading within 24 hours of the game for accuracy. The method is to shuffle the cards while singing the Victors. I then lay out all the cards face down in a line and select 3 with my eyes closed using my off hand. This process helps to double randomize the deck so I am not selecting the same cards repeatedly like a poorly shuffled deck of Uno. I like to use the Salvador Dali Deck because it puts a chaotic modernist/art history twist on the traditional 78 card Rider-Waite Deck. Plus the cards have an oil-paint smell that is totally groovy.

Looking back on the win over Minnesota, Michigan really had a Page of Swords moment as both diplomat and warrior. The 2 of Coins is a continuation of that duality of success. It was a good day to be young and on the team as Michigan had an opportunity to explore their depth chart almost completely. In retrospect, the 2 of Coins represents a team that is balanced in all facets of the game. The offense is putting up huge points and the defense is among the statistical leaders in the nation. If there is anything to add, looking at the card, the North Wind is blowing as a reminder to not get an overinflated ego.

Returning to Ann Arbor, Michigan is greeted by the Judgment card. This is a great indication that they have not overlooked Indiana. They are a team that is pleased with their performance, but ready to build and expand upon their success with the butterflies of change. Along the margins we see the Michigan collective, ready to return to Michigan Stadium after two road games. We last saw the Judgment Card as the outcome for Bowling Green. That was not a delightful memory but even on an off day, this team was able to put together a solid victory and grab the pearl at the bottom of the card. Michigan is looking to be themselves and rely upon their talent and it should go well…

because for the outcome we have the Knight of Coins. Coins, or pentacles, or discs, are representative of wealth, or in the case of football, talent. This should be a game where Michigan out-talents poor Indiana at every position and wins big. Michigan is favored, and they drew favorable cards. Looking closer, note the coloring on the card. In most decks, the Knight of Coin is known for its unusual sky and background which is fitting since the game will be played during a partial eclipse. Even the sun is partially obstructed by 6 blots of red paint, one for every Michigan victory to date. The Knight of Coins is practical and ambitious. He is focused with a realistic and down to earth desire to acquire success. With the Knight of Coins, the weather and eclipse energy should not be a factor given his measured approach. Look for Michigan to lineup and dominate for 60 minutes.

The six blots on the Knight of Coins sun connection to the eclipse and six prior victories this season is astute

Here’s to another victory where everyone remains healthy and hungry

Just tuning in, as the events unfolding in the world today get in the way of business as usual.

Given what I'm seeing, a reassuring draw overall, though my reading differs a bit, as we're seeing play out: just as Bowling Green's defense surprisingly posed more challenge than just about anyone else to date, I believe the Judgment card is portending a bit of turbulence before the Knight brings us home.

Here's to a smooth landing.

Honestly wild how the motions of heavenly bodies influence us like that on the daily. We’re just bags of chemicals and elements after all. We are not immune to the gravitational disruption such an event creates. Eclipses are powerful and portend shifts. In this case, I’d say M notched up a few gears. Let’s keep it running at a high level

MGoTarot, thanks again for an accurate reading.  I’ve been keeping tabs on this every week this season…hopefully the cards play out as the season progresses.  Every game so far has been spot on.  A delightful side piece to this site’s analytics.  And I’m an analytic!

thanks again
