MGoTarot Reading: Illinois

Submitted by MGoTarot on November 19th, 2022 at 2:24 AM

MGoTarot is a fun prediction tool that I started doing last season. The tarot card readings turned out to be amazingly accurate in revealing the outcomes and energies of each game. This season I thought I would share with you.

The approach is a standard 3 card spread showing elements of the past, the present, and the future outcome. I do the reading within 24 hours of the game for accuracy. I shuffle the cards while singing the Victors. I then lay out all the cards face down in a line and select 3 with my eyes closed. I like to use the Salvador Dali Deck because it puts a modernist/art history twist on the traditional 78 card Rider-Waite Deck. Plus the cards have an oil-paint smell that is totally groovy.

Coming off the Nebraska win we see the return of the Fool. We last saw him wandering around aimlessly in the first half of the Indiana game. The Fool is the Joker/Zero of the deck and is not necessarily good or bad. He is free of commitment and decision and opens a world of possibility. He can also teeter obliviously on the edge of the abyss. In this case, he is the manifestation of the anxiety felt throughout the Michigan collective. Is the offense dynamic enough? Will Harbaugh open up the playbook or just try to cram Blake Corum down Ohio State's throat? Is the defense truly elite or just untested? The season has been on the lighter side so there is a feeling of being in a sensory deprivation tank unable to truly find our bearings. Well, the Fool does not have answers either. He is a weary pilgrim along for the journey. All he knows is that he is shaped like the Lower Peninsula. Go Blue?

Going into the Illinois game, we have the 10 of Coins. In a way, this is the answer to the questions raised by the Fool. The main image is The Turkish Bath by Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres. These women (and their butterflies) have come together nekkidly and are enjoying the ultimate in collective wealth and success. Besides being totally French, the nekkid women also represent trust. Just like they all trust eachother at the bath, this Michigan team has also come together trusting and succeeding. Ten is the number of completion, so it is fitting that we see this card as we near the end of the season.

For the outcome we have the Sun card. This is a great sign of putting it all together at the perfect time. It represents the arrival of the outward self on the stage of life. It is the sum total of everything this team has been builing towards. Every recruit, coach, and newly emerged star is now fully lifted, practiced, gamed, and integrated. This team is ready to rock with good fortune, good health, and vitality. Standing tall on the shoulders of 2021, let's hope the momentum carries over and the Sun continues to shine into next week.

Lighten up. It’s different.  It’s not my most favorite thing, but it’s a form of entertainment.  If you don’t like it, move on.
This particular post is a bit shorter than the others, so maybe THIS one isn’t quite diary length, but the content is the same.  It comfortably fits into the diary category.

Feel free to keep mooooooving along for more worthwhile cowtent. The readings are fun and not advanced metrics or bookmaking. Will the cards get it right? Did MGoTarot read it right? The dairy allows me to post in one spot instead of texting it out to all my bulls in the barnyard. I admit the readings are a bit boring when all we do is win. You should see the LoLZ nightmare of incompetence, poverty, and despair that come from a Detroit Lions reading! However, go back and look at some of the older posts and you can see the evolution of the team towards today's 10 of Coins and The Sun cards. I will do a summary during the bowl break highlighting hits, misses, and broader themes.

I like this. Please keep posting.

I found the trust portion particularly on point. Some players sitting out, that could have played, because they want to heal more for OSU. Weird guys getting in due to other boo boos in the game. I then JJ talking about trusting every single member of the team including walk ons post game. Was that a 4th down conversion to Gash after he dropped an easy catch?

My family is spiritual and we have all kinds of tarot and oracle decks around the house. More recently my wife got a Russian Gypsy Fortune Telling deck, which is part of her ancestry, and is really cool. It is our go to right now.

Thanks for taking the time and putting the energy to do this.
