Question on basketball and Crisler Arena
Plan B's and NIT's. Beat State and find that bridge to the dance.
and they still won't matter.
We will make the tournament, so it won't matter.
Since both the men and women are on the bubble, if either ends up in the NIT, they will find a way to make it work.
“We are currently spending a lot of time fine-tuning our construction schedules for Crisler and we will be prepared to consider our options if the opportunity to host games presents itself,” Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon wrote in an e-mail to AnnArbor.com on Friday afternoon. “We are also working on some interesting contingency plans since it might be necessary for us to come up with some creative alternatives if we do have a situation where we want to consider hosting games but our construction schedule creates conflicts.

Maybe Ira Weintraub (I think it was he who was talking about Yost vs Crisler for basketball during the Cazzie Russell discussion on WTKA) will get his wish and be able to experience a basketball game at Yost.
I've always thought having a "throwback game" promotion and playing it at Yost would be pretty cool. Obviously would prefer not to have it an option until next season (i.e. no NIT).
Do the teams wear classic uniforms?
Who wears short shorts?!
"it might be necessary for us to come up with some creative alternatives "
Helllloooooo college basketball at the Big House!
I'm all in.
you speak of?
This is probably a minority view...
If we're hosting games, it's for the NIT. I'm not saying that it doesn't matter, but the NIT is the Europa League to the NCAA Tournament's Champions League. It's second rate. I don't really care about it. What I do care about is how shitty Crisler is. I personally think it's more important that they get this construction done for the sake of the program than advance in the NIT. I think the construction will have a more lasting impact on the program, the fans, the school than one NIT, one year.
we have to beat state (which i know we are going to win) but they are going to give up a fight but we will come out with the knockout.
I care about Michigan whinning. I don't care if it's football, gymnastics or Jenga. If they don't get in, the NCAA is dead, long-live the NIT.
