Calling MGoEngineers/Architechs
MVictors has a pretty cool piece about TSIO's stadium and someone that spent two years creating a Lego replica.
So I'm placing a call to our Lego engineers and architechs to respond to this piece of Buckeye Lego art.
Just remember this if you try to build a Big House replica:

My 6 year old step can spend hours upon hours building stuff with Legos. Never quite sure what it until he's done and tells me about it but it's cool all the same.

great quote: It’s unconfirmed whether Janssen’s next “project” is to kiss a girl. (Sorry- I do not know how to do that fancy yellow box thingy over my quote)
How does anybody find enough time in the day to build something like that? I mean there is MGOBLOGGING to do.

.....is a replica of the Big House with us in the process of beating Ohio State.

Bears an uncanny resemblance to Nazi Germany's olympic stadium in Berlin.
True story.

The Berlin stadium was built for the 1936 Olympics and Ohio Stadium was completed in the mid-1920s, if I remember correctly.

So does the Spartan statue at MSU and the Spartan statue in Berlin from the 1936 Olympics

But I'm hard at work on my own replica of the Big House by whittling away at a bar of soap.

The Big House: Good for your skin and all your 2000 parts.

"your add"
January 16th, 2011 at 11:15 AM ^
Noticed the same thing, +1 to you.

Wow. They did a nice job. Especially since they made the horseshoe look like a shithole in Legos, just like real life.
I don't know why I opened this thread, I'm Math, not engineering/architecture

I always thought it was a giant toilet seat.......my bad

Someone only needs to write "American Standard" on the side of it, or campaign for all games in this stadium to be sponsored by them.
January 16th, 2011 at 11:45 AM ^
Shouldn't any replica of TSIO's stadium be built using (cheap) beer cans?
January 16th, 2011 at 11:58 AM ^
It's architect. Not trying to be a dick, just say'n.
January 16th, 2011 at 12:25 PM ^
Should have read the comments on the original article.
Carry on.

My only question is whether it is a homonym or a misspelled abbreviation. Either way, it is almost sad, even if the guy that did it is a Buckeye, to see a flaw like that in something that took a long time to make.
January 16th, 2011 at 1:24 PM ^
does not make grammatical sense. The only thing I can think of is a misspelling of "you're add (attention deficit-disorder)" or it's one of those billboard things that has to be shown in several parts because the message is too long: "your add (next picture) itional...whatever."

I don't know if we'll be seeing any Lego Big Houses anytime soon. It took 2 years to build Ohio Stadium out of Legos and the Big House is bigger.

Impossible is nothing
It can be done but we have to work as a team
5 / 6 people can do it

my guess is this person has never had sex or talked to a girl!
January 16th, 2011 at 2:59 PM ^
That's actually pretty cool. I hope his Mom doesn't take it apart and put the pieces away when she cleans the house next week. The lego stuff I built never lasted more than a few days unless I hid it after I built it.
January 16th, 2011 at 3:16 PM ^
I gonna go hit the Lego store and decimate their bulk section. My son and I will have it taken care of in about 2 years. Now time to do some MGoMechanicalEngineering.

Any chance of getting a higher resolution copy of that image to turn into a poster?
February 14th, 2011 at 11:25 AM ^
What size are you looking for? I'd have to regenerate but that's easy enough
February 14th, 2011 at 7:15 PM ^
3500x3500 would be great if it's not a big hassle.
January 19th, 2011 at 12:43 PM ^
or do both sides of the thing say OHO stadium and not, you know, OHIO
