OT: Dorsey hasn't signed a LOI with Lousiville
I was under the impression that Dorsey signed already. Louisville just doing their homework or are they having trouble getting Dorsey accepted?
another newspaper article with nothing to report.
that he signed with Lousiville. Just found it interesting that he has not yet signed.
...please: "an LOI."
Also: best of luck to Demar. I have a feeling he's going to have some additional detours along the way, but I'm still pulling for him.
don't try and type with a 3 yr old sitting next to you.
If I had your avatar no child would be comfortable sitting on my lap.
Wrong on so many levels. +1
I think that an is the correct usage because when you say LOI (el oh eye) an would be used before el so it makes sense.
There is serious doubt as to Dorsey getting past ncaa clearing house, wich is why so many admissions are struggling with accepting him.
I still think admissions at michigan were told to go over everything again a couple times and finally just stood their ground.
but I'm pretty sure he got past the clearinghouse and the only thing holding him back is the admissions department at his school of choice (first M, now UL).
FSU didn't admit him either. It may be that Dorsey is a perfectly good kid but just isn't college material (at least not at the moment).
Back when this was breaking news, a few people suggested that the fact that Demar was not admitted to UM is evidence of discord within the University. As if there were a conspiracy to undercut RichRod by the admissions department.
Instead, I think you're right on the money. He may be a good kid, but simply not college material. I don't know, but the fact that FSU wouldn't take him, and UL seems to be having issues, I think that suggests he may have legitimate academic issues.
The Detroit News must really be running low on potential content.....
There were actually two more sentences and two more paragraphs than the News needed.
Former Michigan football recruit Demar Dorsey, a four-star defensive back from Lauderdale Lakes, FL, is being recruited by the University of Louisville, but has not yet signed, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal on Friday.
Modern "journalism" sucks. Their so lazy that they choose to add paragraphs rather than fill their allotted space with actual words.
It's impossible to know whether his not signing is DD's decision, or Louisville's decision.
I still think that David Brandon identified the reason DD wasn't accepted by UM when he issued his comment on the whole affair. I can't take the time to dig up Brandon's exact words, but he made an oblique reference to how DD achieved his grades, and to me that was directed at the alternative school DD attended his senior year and the validity of the grades he achieved there. While I don't think of Louisville as a place having the same academic standards that UM does, perhaps they've got the same concerns if they're the one dragging their feet.
The deadline to sign a LOI (April 1st) has already passed. Dorsey also doesn't need to sign a LOI to go to Louisville, just a scholarship agreement (the LOI protects the school, not the player). Dorsey won't sign a LOI and neither will Seantrel Henderson. This is not a story at all.
If Dorsey meets the minimum eligibility requirements (which by all accounts he has) he will be admitted to Louisville and playing this fall.
Maybe Demar Dorsey is thinking about going to a juco college to raise his grades, which could be done.If so he could get into any college after doing that.Would that college be Michigan,I think so just maybe!!!
to the tune of -9 points, Mr. john22. I agree that DD might wind up back at Michigan in the next year or two. Recruits or potential recruits who read mgoblog have to be impressed. And DD should be especially warmed by the prevailing sentiment of goodwill wafting from everyone here.
