Jake Rudock visits Attack Each Day podcast, and Harbaugh talks spring practice
Great to hear from Jake as he talks about his life after college, plus Harbaugh gives some updates on Spring practice so far.
Some highlights:
"Offense is improving" according to Harbaugh
"Quarterback play is improving and receiver play is also improving"
"Tru Wilson is probably #3 back, Samuels is #4"
"I call Donovan Peoples-Jones our best receiver right now," Harbaugh said.
"Tarik Black is getting back into form and doing extremely well," Harbaugh said.
"Oliver Martin is making big moves up the depth chart"
And he raves about the defense

Tru Wilson is #3? That's... wow.
"Somewhat implausible" is the most rational thing that comes to my mind.
I have a feeling things are subject to change.
I was surprised by that as well, I rewound and listened a second time just to make sure I heard him right.
that translates to "kareem walker motivational tactic."
Who is Tru Wilson? Is he a walk-on?
Magnus has been high on him as a player. I think he was projected as a possibility at safety as well as RB.
Steve Lorenz about him (and the other walk-ons) on the signing day podcast that year. IIRC Steve said he had offers to all the academies and 247 was surprised he didn't at least have some MAC offers. They also noted that he took some carries in HS from the 4-star M commit that we ended up offering a Medical(and he instead went to a MAC school).
That said - Wrobo was getting a lot ofhype last Spring/Fall and hardly saw the field last year.
Schoenle got a lot of hype too, and he did some things. I doubt Tru will ever start, but it's always cool to see a walk on make some waves!
(not joking)
You mean you don't have a film breakdown on him?
He's the light skinned #20 that always seems to pop up in off-season and pre-season videos. From what little I've seen of him he seems like a capable guy. He's just undersized (5'10" is and 195 ish) and not super fast, but he looks quick, athletic, and seems confident and decisive with the ball. I don't think he has the speed of Higdon, the quickness of Evans, or the power of Walker, but he has a litte bit of all of those qualities.

Bizarro Fred Jackson quote
I know Wilson is on the smaller side, but I think I recall hearing that he is a burner. Maybe nobody can catch him to put a hit on him.
I'd bet a dollar that Wilson is ahead of Samuels in pass pro right now, and that's what's driving this (probably motivational) ranking.
Jay's comments about Kareem the other day could not have been more tepid. Would love for him to put it together, but it seems like he can't get out of this own way and is perenially in the doghouse for one reason or another. Really hope we hit on one of the incoming freshman at RB, because it's looking shaky past Higdon and Evans on the depth chart.
Agree. I think I recall umbig11 hinting at a poor outlook for Walker, as well. It's not looking good for him right now.
He was also hinting at another attrition that would sting (like a 7 or 8 out of 10)
I wonder if that is Walker
I don't think so. A umbig11 hint isn't gospel, so we don't KNOW such attrition is coming... but Walker, honestly, doesn't move the needle enough to qualify for that kind of impression.
I read yesterday it's possible Kareem Walker was moved to H Back. We'll know in Spring Game next week if it's true.
I wonder what's up with Walker.
We need a top 150 type RB recruit in this class.
Ruiz and Bredeson are the best two. Filiaga, Hudson and Onwenu are poised to separate themselves, although he mentioned Runyan and JBB first..
Some interesting tidbits. Hard to separate out the motivational tactics from the coach speak and the overall issue with it being spring ball, but:
Things I really liked hearing are Oliver Martin rocketing up the depth chart, and apparently Filiaga and Hudson are ascending?
If we can get halfway decent pass pro and then have some WRs that can create separation, our offense will be light years ahead of last year's
Yeah, and with that defense the O doesn't have to be elite, just effective. 24 points will probably win nearly every game.
Hopefully if Shae is eligible his ability to move the pocket with his feet will eleviate some of the OT issues.
Totally shocked our highest rated recruits are the ones flying up the depth chart. Just shocked.
Except at RB.
"Recently" as in the last decade?
Sup, Shawn?
Bush (ranked #312), Uche (#707) and Paye (#487).
Cool, and only Bush is good enough to start this year.
just not good enough to beat out a returning All Big Ten 1st team player. Sort of like the #1 ranked recruit in the country couldn't start ahead of 5th year sr. Wormley.
...and it gets real lonely, under that bridge.
Our three interior guys will be very, very good. JBB will do well-enough (hopefully) at right tackle. I am hoping Hudson or someone emerges as a real, viable LT.
Was it Tru Wilson that had some impressive carries in the spring game last year? I remember the name and recall him running very hard. He was a good player at De La Salle.
Jack Harbaugh- "our offensive line just looks different"
Herbert doing an outstanding job, Warinner > Drevno
But what did the Uber driver say in the interview?
My hat's off to Don Brown for finding a diamond in Kwity Paye. I'm wondering next about Sammy Faustin.
