Anyone else in hot water with the Mrs?
I gambled by watching the game within earshot of the better half and lost. My F-laced outbursts both good (Poole) and bad (Mo chin foul, MAAR missed lay up) brought my lovely but non-sports understanding wife of 8 years to startled tears, soon followed by a blubbering "You have to hold yourself to a higher standard of comportment" lecture. She wasn't wrong. I was pretty bad. It felt so good. I'm still smiling. Jordan Poole. Texted a buddy and he informed me he too was in hot water with his wife! Good times.
Lesson: If you marry someone whose college sports passion is less than 10% of yours, watch the game in the same zip code at your own peril.
Anyone else earn spousal heat tonight over some short term turrets?

You better hope your son doesn't follow your example and say F you when you try to wake him up when he doesn't want to. :)
That was when you should have started to give her a back and shoulder massage while she's feeding your kid. Whatever angst she had would have dissipated faster than a stinky fart during a wind storm. You messed up man. Better go buy her flowers this morning.
I'm in the same situation. My husband has an over-developed sense of fair play and right-and-wrong. He seems almost wounded by a bad call. For me, the overreaction sucks the fun out of watching. Why get caught up in things you have no control over?
It's like watching an old Catskills comic on the Ed Sullivan Show on Youtube.

I have the closet of a twelve year old, everything in it is maize and blue so I'm pretty sure my wife knew what she was in for. So rather than fight it she joined it

I screamed loud when Poole's shot went in. My wife was still awake so no issue there. And our 9 month old was sleeping two levels up where the sound from the basement is highly attenuated. I figured I was safe letting loose. All turned out well. So no, I'm not in any hot water.
BTW, I rarely scream profanities anymore with bad ref calls. It happens so often to us in basketball and football that I've become numb to it.

Nothing better than high-fiving my Wolverines wife after we endured that game together. I'm lucky. She's as rabid a sports fan as me. Her stomach isn't twisted into as many knots as mine, but there is no place she would rather be than watching the games. I'm still hoarse this morning, but i didn't have to worry about waking anyone up last night.

The mere fact that you were able to post this, and you allegedly have a brain to think about stuff is astonishing in and of itself.
Now, if your wife was really crying--she has issues. Get out. NOW. That you can't enjoy a sporting event without a lecture on how to behave? Did you marry your mother?
Secondly--that you stood there and took it, then felt bad about how you acted?
Turn in the Man Card now please.
Figure skating sounds like the sport for you.

These whole thread is just sad. People are in trouble for saying/yelling words at a tv. A wife crying because her husband is super excited and said some cuss words over a game. It’s not surprising that she needed to use the word comportment.

The cats and the boyfriend are still recovering. Especially since the terrified cats jumped ONTO the boyfriend, claws unsheathed.

This is why you marry a Michigan grad. She was just as thrilled as me (once she woke up). She made me run the replay back over 2 or 3 times just to bathe in the glory. That's the Michigan difference.

Gratuitous "I went to Michigan" post.
It took awhile, but it finally arrives.

Sadly she is not a soccer fan either.
Oh, well! For this tourney she will have to live with it until Michigan wins the final or is eliminated

Married 18 years and I got the "You're acting like a child" yell from the other room and I gave exactly zero fucks. She's been saying that every year for 18 years and I expect in about 2 more years she'll just stop.
