M athletes beat up OSU football team in 1977
I never saw this clip shockingly until recently from Dr. Sap's great YouTube archive.
This is from 1977. 8 U-M lettermen from a variety of sports protect the Go Blue banner.
Michigan won the game and Big Ten Championship that day with a 14-6 over osu.

Miscalculated a little bit.
Not as much of a guilty pleasure as Bruce Kimball tackling Brutus, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Here's Bruce Kimball knocking the beanbag on his damn head

Brutus, and the rest of the Buckeye fans, we're so f-Ing cocky & confident they would be victorious in 1983 that the Hairless Nut was taunting the north endzone crowd & waving his flag. To think that there would be no repercussions of being an asshat in your rival's stadium only speaks to the Neanderthal mentality of that mascot. He went down hard & good! There's a longer clip out there on YouTube from some Buckeye fan that shows Brutus getting up and continuing to taunt the crowd as he runs to the south endzone.
This year, like the song says, "It's going down for real!!!!"

he was delivering roundhouses. Impressive performance.
Question: why had they waited four years to respond? Sounds like Ufer was prepared for the melee. . .

Who is the guy laying everyone out? He put down like 3 guys and then number 86 from OSU came at him from behind and he sent him straight down as well.

Nothing like getting knocked on your ass by someone not wearing equipment.

You're thinking of the following season.
Michigan played Washington in the Rose Bowl in that 1977 season.

Not all change is progress.
Can you imagine what would have happened had this happened last year?
- The "WWL" would still be talking about it
- there'd have been a 30 for 30
- there would have been a slew of "harbaugh has lost control of his program" columns even though obviously
- Gregg Doyel and Valenti would have lost the last of their neurons yelling about it
- ugh i'm getting sick and will stop
- but oh seriously the suspensions

Really, anything Daniel Day Lewis said as Bill the Butcher in "Gangs of New York" is perfect:
"Here's the thing: I don't give a tuppenny fuck about your moral conundrum, you meat-headed shit-sack...Everything you see belongs to me, to one degree or another. The beggars and newsboys and quick thieves here in Paradise, the sailor dives and gin mills and blind tigers on the waterfront, the anglers and amusers, the she-hes and the Chinks. Everybody owes, everybody pays. Because that's how you stand up against the rising of the tide."

Woody comes out throwing elbows. The first time Ohio State attempted this, they caught Michigan off guard. I have no clue why you attempt it again, this was a demoralizing distraction for them.
The next year in Columbus, Michigan would destroy Ohio State 22-0
August 14th, 2017 at 1:32 PM ^
.....but they did dominate the next year too and win 14-3.

And thanks for the correction.

In 1978 in the Toilet Bowl (and the last Bo vs. Woody game) Michigan won 14-3.

How did I not know about this? It would be fun to hear interviews today with those M Athletes. They were doing some hitting out there!

Quite the clickbait title there, chief. Maybe helpful to mention in the title that this isn't news?

"The Michigan gladiators aren't even on the field yet." Coaches should show this to the team before the Game. I thought I couldn't hate osu more than I already do. Pieces of crap.
