Sam Webb has been posting some stuff lately that suggests that Michigan might have a real shot again with Solomon. I wonder why?
*checks Michigan and Georgia*
Michigan is 7-0 and #2 in the country, while Georgia is 4-3 with a loss to Vanderbilt and behind Kentucky in the East standings*. I see why now.
*It's true, you can check.

for Aubrey for Michigan. This should get the other ballz rolling in...

and Cristobal is a monster d-line coach. At the very least, he is AS good as Mattison, with less swag. The thing I would point out though is this...Hand is in his 3rd year and is coming off the bench, still...as a 5 star prospect. He rarely played as a frosh, has 36 tackles and 7 sacks in 2.5 years. Most of his frosh plays were in garbage time, and even then he didn't get a lot of burn. Harbaugh is doing things TOTALLY different, and kids notice. They want to play, even if they aren't the BEST defensive end in the country.
October 28th, 2016 at 9:59 AM ^
but he's an o-line coach.

Bama having d-line depth is being discussed as a negative in this context. We're comparing our relative lack of d-line depth in 2017.
October 28th, 2016 at 11:59 AM ^
Maybe Hand was overrated. Not all 5*s pan out. Not all top 5 players pan out.
October 28th, 2016 at 1:21 PM ^
a number of Alabama games, Hand is not overrated, Alabama has such great depth he barely gets to play. He'll be a stud next year.
October 28th, 2016 at 8:57 AM ^
I'm sure Bama is in it. But Georgia was THE favorite from the moment he decommitted through the present.
October 28th, 2016 at 9:34 AM ^
Even after the thank you note incident and the misspelled name issue, his mother said that Aubrey would still visit. I am hoping we have a shot to pull him away from Georgia. I would love to have him as part of this class.

You may have hit on the real answer. Supposedly his mother was very strong on Georgia. She may not be a fan of Saban.

It's nice to see Georgia struggling after canning Mark Richt. Perhaps I'm projecting, but it always seems dumb to force out a winning coach.
October 28th, 2016 at 10:08 AM ^
If you're going to fire a coach that gets you 9-11 wins every year because you want to take that next step, you'd damn well better hire a coach with a proven track record of getting to that next step. Not a guy who's never been a head coach before.
I, like you, am happy that they're struggling and hope it continues. And I hope Miami does well under Richt.
October 28th, 2016 at 1:58 PM ^
Agree totally. I have always liked Richt and thought Georgia canning him would turn out to be a big mistake. Maybe its me but everytime I see things going bad for Georgia and Kirby Smart I envision some twangy banjo music going on in the background and Kirby yelling out in the thickest of southern accents an "Awww shucks...." or a "Dang nab it...." Maybe its his name I dont know, I know nothing about him other than his resume but I just picture him as being an idiot.
October 28th, 2016 at 2:19 PM ^
So Smart is an idiot?
October 28th, 2016 at 9:33 AM ^
Bama was also the leader recently, (or our main rival) for Wilson, Wills, Ruiz, etc. They can't take everyone, but there's often the perception that they lead for practically everybody they are recruiting.
October 28th, 2016 at 7:04 PM ^
1. Those are OL guys while Solomon is a DT.
2. My understanding is that Wilson and Ruiz both cooled on Alabama quite a while back.
October 28th, 2016 at 1:46 PM ^
Not after we beat Saban.
October 28th, 2016 at 10:13 AM ^
UGa will rue the day they canned Richt. The guy was a good head coach, class, made few waves, and only won at a 0.740 clip (including 9-3 the year he was fired...in the ESS EEE SEE no less). I'm not saying Smart won't turn things around, but it seems the chickens are coming home to roost.
Reminds me of Nebraska canning Frank Solich after going 9-3 ("mediocrity"), and spending the next 15 years in the wilderness of irrelevancy.

Can you imagine Soloman, Tufele, and Gary lining up next to each other. Just need to get Mom on campus with him or there is no shot.
October 28th, 2016 at 9:15 AM ^
That would be a killer line.
October 28th, 2016 at 9:34 AM ^
If I recall correctly, many sites are projecting Mom as a LT?

Mike overpowered Martin
And imagine him with this Dline instead of being the sole savior in the bleak years. I remember the eventual loss that was Mike Martin versus Purdue. :(
October 28th, 2016 at 10:22 AM ^
Would rather imagine the DL we have now... Im tired of dissing what we have, for recruiting hype... and the crap the recruit said, doesn't sit well with me, whereby we glorify him over our current players.
October 28th, 2016 at 12:19 PM ^
Being hopeful for the future doesnt mean you don't appreciate the present. Honestly, I agree with everything Aubrey said when he decommited. I just hope we can prove him wrong.
