Friday PosBang? Friday POSBANG!

Submitted by The Mad Hatter on

It's that time of year again, when those of us living close to Woodward either get out of town or spend the weekend trapped in our homes.

For those of you going to the Woodward Dream Cruise, be safe, have fun, and keep your booze out of sight.

Also don't pee on the side of my house.

My first car was a 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass very similar to the one above.  It had a bench seat, an AM radio, and a 350 Rocket V8.

I'm a Get the Hell out of Dodge guy when it comes to the Dream Cruise.

I like classic cars, just not the overcrowded circus that it has become.

Now if my idiot father hadn't sold our old 68 Pontiac Calalina 428 I might feel differently.

Great read.  And he's right about how it used to be true, my old Audi was a little tank.  My newer BMW went to the scrap yard at about 160k miles.

I still miss that Olds btw.  It only had 23k miles on it and I paid for it myself.  Got it right after my 16th birthday.

had an '82 Mercedes Turbo Diesel that likely will be running after the robot uprising, zombie apocalypse, and nuclear war.

It wasn't fast but damn that thing was solid.

That's exactly it, nothing else handles like it. I am very fortunate that I am in a position where leasing cars makes sense. But then again I did own a Toyota for 11 years....

Moving to Birmingham next month

Never experienced the Dream Cruise but will soon. My family and I are moving into a rental house in Birmingham not far from Woodward. A buddy of mine went to check out the house yesterday and said people were already setting up shop...crazy.

Best Friday I've had in awhile. Got cut from my shift at the plant at 9 am. Gotta cut the grass and do some dishes and I'll be done with what I've got to do for the weekend. Can't wait to spend the rest of the weekend drinking and relaxing. Going to watch Man U at 3. Definition of a Friday posbang

Any help would be appreciated. Pretty sure I was scammed trying to buy tickets.

A couple days ago I saw that Seth tweeted out that tickets were pretty cheap for the Colorado game. I clicked the link and it sent me to tiqiq.com. We decided the UCF game would be a better for our group of 4. I ended up purchasing 2 sets of 2. 1 set came from seatsmart and is on the way to my house. The other set ended up being from some site called mytickettracker.com. My girlfriend put the information in for the purchase for that one with my card because I went to take a shower.

Yesterday I opened my email and got a confirmation on the seatsmart tickets. I also got an email from mytickettracker. The order was unable to process, so I called them to see what the problem was. They said it was a glitch in the system or some other error may have occurred. So they said my money would be refunded and he found me 2 more close to where the other seats were. I got an email to where I could check to see the status like before and this time it said it was processed.

Last night I had a weird feeling about it and googled the website. Reviews were not good and some were calling it a scam site. Another thing is that in the email there are like 3 different websites listed: mytickettracker.com, tiqiqmobile.com, and retail.tickettransaction.com.

The websites are bogus and basically what I am asking is am I shit out of luck or is there anything I can do to get my money back? Has anyone else experienced this?
