Snoop Dogg's Michigan Story
This was from a 2015 interview, but they talked about it this morning on WTKA, so here it is. Back in 1997, on the eve of the Rose Bowl, Charles Woodson, Marcus Ray and some other U-M players knocked on Snoop Dogg's door. (And maybe this appeared on the board back in 2015; if so, SIAP.)
Anyway, here's Snoop telling the story to Rich Eisen.
It's a very Cool Story, Bro.
HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO GET ANY WORK DONE?!?!
Cuz it's uh 187 on an undercover cop.
You obviously never saw No Holds Barred with Hulk Hogan. There were three of us at a matinee. Me, and my two friends. Sad....
You know I ain't with that shit, Lieutenant!
The day before the national championship, Charles Woodson and Marcus Ray snuck out to Snoops house and hung out. The next day we all know that UM beats WSU for the national championship. That's it.
I wondered why we only won by 5 points. I always thought Woodson and Ray were a little too relaxed that game, if you know what I mean.
/s (employing the /s tag because I would never seriously imply something negative about Woodson or Ray.)
right out of that story.
SBo, find someplace quiet, watch the video, and listen to Snoop's telling. He's quite the raconteur.
Raconteur +1.
The Fab Five did the same thing the night before their NC game against UNC apparently.
Jalen says that they would have won the NCAAs if the game was not played in New Orleans.
True story or not, elite athletes on the doorstep to instant millions are in a different world than you and I. They just are.
We can only watch in awe from afar.
he is hilarious, chill and says what he wants...I love it.
Man that cold blooded baby. hahaha
and he's a highly successful stoner.
Cool pic lol.
Listen to Sam Webb every day on podcasts now - since hearing about their show on this board. Marcus cracks me up when he is on there. His football knowledge is some of the best also. Anybody think he will end up on JH's staff at some point as a secondary back's coach?
Then they rolled up Leaf (Ryan that is) and smoked his whole team. Go Blue!!!
The absolute best part about Charles is that he played his best games in Michigan's biggest games. MSU, PSU Judgment Day, The Game, the Rose Bowl . . . he showed up big in all of them when it mattered most.
No Charles, no Michigan NC.
