Lions getting serious about their lines, as they should.

This is the 6th OL drafted 3rd round or higher since 2010. (Reiff, Warford, Decker, Glasgow, Tomlinson, and Swanson)

And yet their lines still need some major help, so they should be serious about upgrading them. Don't follow your point.
April 29th, 2016 at 11:22 PM ^
And yet they need to get serious about fielding a defense with, you know, talent.
There are plenty of teams that find gems on the OL in the later rounds. The Pats for instance do this. In fact, many teams do. The Lions have wasted way too many draft picks on the OL the past 5 years and neglected the defense in the higher rounds save for the DL.

During the time frame you cited, they've taken Alex Carter, Kyle Van Noy, Darius Slay, and Bill Bentley in the top three rounds range. So, exactly as many O-linemen as back-seven defenders. I'm at a loss to figure how that is considered focusing on the O-line yet neglecting the defense. And linebacker, of course, hasn't been a need, since during all that time they had Levy and Tulloch.

and they have drafted more OL(6 vs 5).
It's amusing really to see people defend the Lions lunacy because they drafted a Michigan player.

He can't. He knows everything about everything.

So basically, the Lions should just replicate what the most successful team in the NFL for the last 15 years has done. Got it. Should be an easy strategy, I just hope no one else gets the memo.
April 29th, 2016 at 11:39 PM ^
straight from the Pats?
Anyways, more than the Pats do this. Most NFL teams don't have OL's loaded with top 3 round guys.
April 29th, 2016 at 11:47 PM ^
You're right, Martha went outside of their organization to find the best candidate they could, one that was largely considered to be a good hire by local/national media, and now they are drafting toward obvious weaknesses that are also getting graded well by outsiders, not just lunatic Lion fans, as you said. I see you have a very strong agenda here, but it's not rational.
April 29th, 2016 at 11:49 PM ^
Rational people would see how bad their defense was and how many resources the Lions have already poured into the OL and conclude that they need to address defense.

huzzah.
Onward to the single character!
it's never too late. To the single character!
one reply at a time
not clear how many licks it took to get to the center of the tootsie roll. Also not clear how many replies it takes to get to the single character reply. But we CAN find out.
Need MOAR replies!

Glory is nearing.

Losing the will to complete the mission. Will we get to the single character?
April 30th, 2016 at 10:13 PM ^
Complete the mission, MGoBroughams!
to build up strength for the final push. Let's do this thing!
the day is young!
But what would Harbaugh do? He'd beat this thread into submission.
the day is getting long and I haven't had the time to devote to the cause that I had hoped. We shall see what becomes of the long thread.
Thi s is like Thelma and Louise. We're taking this right off the cliff. Hopefully it doesn't take the Blog down with it. Either we crash off the cliff, or we bust through the right margin and slam into the right border.
right?
but "Those Who Stay"
This long thread could end up like the Ark of the Covenant in Indiana Jones, burried in that cavernous government warehouse. It doesn't matter. It's there, and that's the important thing. This thread will always be there.
That was stupid! May not be thinking straight at this point, can't tell for sure.
at least on my laptop screen. Things are getting real.
and I'm driving the Blog toward the cliff. I'll tell you this, I'm having a better time than she is.
I have relatively few points.
supposted to talk about MGoPoints! Sh#t! Sorry people!
replies are now going off into the blue border beyond the 3rd column. Wasn't expecting that. Its like quicksand instead of a cliff.
