Yes, oh my god, the Buick commercials make me so angry. "That's not a Buick." YES IT FUCKING IS. IT LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE A FUCKING BUICK. THEY DIDN'T EVEN CHANGE THE DESIGN. DON'T SHOW ME A PICTURE OF THE GOLDEN ARCHES AND THEN TELL ME IT'S NOT MCDONALD'S.
Okay, I feel better now.

I would take Flo on a date in a Buick if I could run over the Dr. Pepper idiot doing it
October 31st, 2015 at 6:09 AM ^
Flo is the most annoying person to look at and listen to all at the same time. Worst ad campaign ever. I listen to Pandora and sports talk radio all day. I start dropping F bombs when Flo comes on - so that is like all day long. I will never be a customer of Progressive because of this. Flo is like nails to a chalk board or like slitting your ass with a razor and sitting in salt water.
On the flip side, I can't help but laugh my ass off everytime I see that Geico commercial with the caveman pulling up in the golf cart....."I think I might of kissed someones bumper.....so are we playing from the tips" hahaha!

The freakin' Buick "test drive" commercials. "Well, when you're done test-washing the Buick I'd like to take it test-shopping."
Damn you to Hell, washing-shopping couple! To Hell!!

Indeed. You just know the "test-shopping" woman is so pleased with her quip that she's walking in to post it on Facebook to see how many Likes she can obtain while her dumbass husband continues to wash a car he doesn't even own:
- "So Bill says he's 'test-washing' the new Buick, so I - in a totally blase voice! (thanks again, Joyce, for the word-a-day calendar!!!), reply 'OK, as soon as you're done I'll take it test-shopping' and you should have seen his face. It was like this [inserts photo of wet upset kitten]. LOLLLLLL!!!"
Even the smug woman at the opening of the commercial pisses me off - Guy in passenger seat: "I guess the test-ride last night went pretty well, huh?" Woman driving : "I'm still test-driving it."
She's so freakin' smug about it. As if that poor sap wasn't just expressing his surprise that you'd buy a Buick, and trying to be positive about it. And she looks at him like he just sharted on her "leather everywhere skin touches" upholstery. She's a total jerk to the guy.
Damn her to Hell too!

My least favorite Buick one is that dick-bag looking at his neighbor's new car with binoculars. I want to punch that guy in the face.

A crack lawya (like you, good sir) would skillfully invoke jury nullification. Because nary a single jury in this great land would want to find the defendant guilty.
I'm not advocating the slaughter of these folks, of course. I'm just saying that there's the law, and then there's the law applied.

So what is next, a class action lawsuit against vegas and all sports media - print & digital - as they are also doing the same thing???
Can't wait for someone to represent all the race horses and file suit against all tracks and betting establishments.
October 30th, 2015 at 5:24 PM ^
than the press covering sports. The media is allowed to use people's names and likenesses in reporting the news. There's no such exception I'm aware of for other commercial purposes. I'm sure plenty of lawyers will weigh in on the lawsuit.

Do they really use his likeness? Or just his name? I played a little bit last year with a smaller site before these two took off and they did not use any logos or player photos that I can recall.
October 30th, 2015 at 5:53 PM ^
These sites exist due to a deliberate loophole in the law which should be eliminated, imho.
I apologize if this treads into political territory - not my intention. As others have stated in this and other threads, if it gets the adverts off the tele, then count me in.

I have never seen Vegas use an Athlete's name in their advertisements, unless of course said athlete was being paid.

and now they and their partners are grabbing what they can. It's like when the offense completes a pass and it's obvious the receiver trapped the ball, but the ref didn't see it. So the QB hurries to the line to run the next play before someone calls for a replay.
FD/DK knows they're on borrowed time. They're like: "They're going to let us do this?!? Legally?? Hurry go get some investors and start advertising like crazy before lawyers, judges and congresspeople start paying attention!!!" They probably never counted on crackpot presidential debate moderators either.
Times' up.

Who cares if they have a loophole and are exploiting it? Who cares if it is gambling or not? Who cares if it is regulated or not?
It never ceases to amaze me the constant urge of government and other personality types to try to get involved in things. It's a new successful industry, it's making money and employing people, it's fun for players, no one is getting hurt. Leave it alone.

I am glad that is settled then.
You are also correct that they are in no way operating like the wild west. I have yet to hear of any gun duels, bushwacking, cow rustling, horse thievin nor hangins from those website or their participants.

This is simply a money shakedown. Reading Garcon's tweets in that article from 2014 promoting fan duel is interesting.
While I have been intrigued, I have yet to try draft kings or fan duel.
Too bad though espn doesnt have a Lester Munson analysis up yet. What ever he says you know the opposite will happen.
