EDIT: it seems to be PED related. thanks fellow mgoposters.
I see a lot of demin being cut with anger this week in the gator fanbase.

Any chance you will blame Rudock for this Moe?

Who would stoop to such a level..........
October 12th, 2015 at 1:42 PM ^
Wow, there are still Urban Meyer recruits playing for Florida? That seems impossible!

October 12th, 2015 at 1:44 PM ^
Is he the starter at QB?
October 12th, 2015 at 1:45 PM ^
Yeah, a freshman trying to get a pump.
October 12th, 2015 at 3:21 PM ^
Why would the NCAA have an issue with the pump???
October 12th, 2015 at 1:47 PM ^
Big blow for that team. They luckily have Treon Harris as a backup but he is nowhere the passer Grier is.
The SEC already seriously lacks legitimate QB play, this only makes it worse.
October 12th, 2015 at 2:15 PM ^
Les Miles must be happy that his job at The Swamp on Saturday just got a lot easier.
October 12th, 2015 at 1:52 PM ^
Grier has been giving them the first decent play they've had at qb since Tebow left. Harris started last year and was terrible, though he was a 4-star out of high school and is still just a soph.
October 12th, 2015 at 1:52 PM ^
in the context of this news, his throwing arm looks kinda skinny.
October 12th, 2015 at 1:54 PM ^
That's a huge loss. I really thought the Gators were going to contend for a playoff spot.
October 12th, 2015 at 1:55 PM ^
Huh. Didn't know college athletes could still be dumb enough to use PEDs nowadays.

Tons of them juice and take legal supplements.
October 12th, 2015 at 2:20 PM ^
If you don't think that there are players for every team, including Michigan, that take PEDs, you are out of touch with reality. Take this kid as an example. Becoming the starting QB and leading his team to the top 10 is his ticket into the NFL where he likely stands to make millions of dollars. If he can take some drugs to enhance the probability of that happening, he's going to do it.
That said, I think it's utterly stupid and short-sighted, but I'm not going to delude myself into thinking that players aren't taking them anymore.

Drug suspensions don't work that way. He's not ineligible until the test.

They started slipping while Urban was still there. He tried to replace Tebow with John Brantley and developed health issues when it didn't work and the cupboard was otherwise bare. The Muschamp era at UF is a perfect parallel for the Hoke years at UM. A good/great defense undone by a Stone Age offense and a clueless head coach.

Does the school mandate tests? Is it random?
October 12th, 2015 at 2:08 PM ^
consulted with Max Bullough. How's his pro career going by the way?
October 12th, 2015 at 2:17 PM ^
I wish the Freep would investigate MSU players' use of PEDs with the same voracity (veracity?) that they investigated our players' use of stretching.
October 12th, 2015 at 2:25 PM ^
I wish they would investigate all use of PEDs with that level of voracity.

I'm sure we would have some guys found out too, but so what? I never thought all Michigan players were pure angels. It'd be nice to see things cleaned up.
October 13th, 2015 at 9:23 AM ^
I really do expect that we will eventually hear about those and I don't care. No one, especially kids, should be taking PEDs. Crack down on it and it makes some schools look bad, but it goes away.

You mean VELOCITY!

@ LSU
Not a disaster really, but Harris had a rough time with sacks last fall.
October 12th, 2015 at 2:35 PM ^
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Either way, this throws a huge wrench into the SEC East race. Florida lost their QB, Georgia has lost Chubb, along with their season, UT is more or less an underachiever, and South Carolina and Mizzou are wrecks.
Does this mean that Kentucky actually might have a shot to do the impossible and win the division? I mean sure they'd get curb stomped into oblivion by Bama, LSU, or whoever made it from the West, but still, it's not inconceivable that they make it to the SEC title game.

Looks like Florida knew this was coming but played him on Saturday anyway:

Possible program sanctions coming?
October 12th, 2015 at 3:13 PM ^
They may have let him play before anything official game down...
It is possible that nothing was 100% until this morning, even though everyone basically knew it was coming over the weekend.
Doesn't make it right, it's SEC dirty for sure...but it's not like he would've played while ineligible.
For example, they ask him Friday or Saturday...he tells them what he took. They investigate the drug after the inquiry by the NCAA...and at some point Saturday someone puts 2 and 2 together and goes 'yup, he's getting a year once the NCAA gets our finding back" and today was that day.
Still Shady, but I'm not sure it's as cut as dry as they knew, he played, they cheated either. Probably somewhere in the middle where they didn't break a techincal rule by playing him, but it wasn't ethical or morally responsible either.

"We'll get that A sample back to you ASAP."
"What about the B sample?"
"We should have that back sometime late Saturday; probably won't get to it before we get back from the game."
"Appreciate the hard work, guys. Thanks."

Gameday sign?
October 12th, 2015 at 3:07 PM ^
But I do feel for the kid after watching his press conference. He could barely speak.
Didn't deny it...just said he took an over the counter suppliment and didn't check with the medical staff.
Sucks because it doesn't sound like his intent was to cheat the sport - but he also didn't make an excuse or complain about the suspension. Just said he hopes people will learn from his mistake.
October 12th, 2015 at 3:10 PM ^
I hope Durkin doesn't get dragged into this somehow. 247 lists him as Grier's primary recruiter at Florida. Call me a worry wart, cuz that's what I am.
October 12th, 2015 at 3:59 PM ^
is probably true. If he were actually juicing the unfortunate truth is that he probably wouldn't have gotten caught.
October 12th, 2015 at 6:39 PM ^
A lot of over-the-counter supplements are now being found to have HGH and other PEDs, not listed in the ingredients. Yes, even ones sold at GNC.
