META: Left sidebar of main page
I think I've realized that the site is not going to be getting the update that was talked about 2(3?) years ago, but is there any chance that the sidebar can be cleaned up? Just going through the list of Michigan blogs linked there leads to several dead websites.
Not really complaining mind you, but it doesn't seem like something that would take a lot of effort for whomever is resonsible for the coding on the site.

Also, not sure if it's intentional, but there's no maryland or rutgers blogs linked :P
September 29th, 2015 at 4:26 PM ^
I hope this is intentional, because I hate* them.
*Not in the traditional sense of hate that normally accompanies rivalry; but in a way reflective of the fact that they water down our conference and schedule at the expense of playing schools like Wisconsin and Minnesota.
September 29th, 2015 at 3:24 PM ^
Sure. Though some I keep not erasing because I miss them.

could use some updating/re-naming.

Update the Schedule/Tix drop-down menu while you're at it.

And would it kill you to call your mom and say hello?

You miss Recruiting Plant?

just sayin'

If the Big Ten Blogs section could get updated too that would be awesome. It's a tool that I enjoy using to read other forums.

don't exist?

not sure if serious...

Don't be mean.
"Meta" is a term used for when some form of media has material that refers to itself. Hence, posts referring to MGoBlog itself(rather than the football team or whatever) are labeled as such.
September 29th, 2015 at 3:28 PM ^
Meta is something referring to itself. Metadata is data about data, for one use in the popular vernacular. A meta thread is a thread about the site itself.
September 29th, 2015 at 3:38 PM ^
...the blog but about the threads themselves. Ex: "This thread contains only false assertions."
September 29th, 2015 at 3:59 PM ^
Now there is a Friday tradition in addition to the posbangs that I could get behind. I think the clientele at MGoBlog would probably have endless material for most any idea thrown out there, such as:
"Observations Not Substantiated By Data Open Thread"
"Thread For Discussing Thread Standards"
"Parameters Of OT Threads Thread"
...and one which someone actually created a few years ago, I believe -
"Open Thread Open Thread"
September 29th, 2015 at 4:07 PM ^
I like "Why I take time to complain about threads wasting my time Thread"
September 29th, 2015 at 4:08 PM ^
"How come my thread get deleted thread"
"Thread asking if it would it be okay to start a foreign policy/abortion/race in America thread"
"Rejoinder thread to the thread asking if it would it be okay to start a foreign policy/abortion/race in America thread" (by Section 1)
September 29th, 2015 at 4:15 PM ^
"Thread for Discussing Thread Standards"
First Post: "Is this Threadworthy?"
September 29th, 2015 at 4:16 PM ^
Second post: "Was that postworthy?"
September 29th, 2015 at 5:28 PM ^
There should be a bot that automatically posts that line whenever a post contains the word "threadworthy".
September 29th, 2015 at 3:28 PM ^
I believe it's just used to note that the thread is about the blog itself.

All this time I thought it was "Meat Every Time, Ace." Mind blown.

An oral history of the golden age of Michigan blogs- when RBAUS, M Zone, Genuinely Sarcastic, Autumn Thunder(!) and WLA were firing on all cylinders.
September 29th, 2015 at 4:00 PM ^
Ah, Autumn Thunder...
And don't forget one of the earliest Michigan bloggers, Vijay of iBlog for Cookies. That guy was awesome.
September 29th, 2015 at 4:33 PM ^
One of the best blog names ever.

I never got into WLA. Didn't understand the schtick or perspective. And agree, too much ANGAR for the sake of being contrarian, even when it made no sense.
September 29th, 2015 at 4:58 PM ^
I loved the M Zone. Never laughed harder than during the thread about the buckeye caught having, um, relations with his patio funiture.
September 29th, 2015 at 3:52 PM ^
Exactly what I was thinking. Don't know what happened, but at this point, I feel like oneRBUAS article a year appearing in HTTV would be a triumphant return.
September 29th, 2015 at 3:27 PM ^
For literally years now, when I click the next arrow on mgoboard it gets messed up and shows diaries. I have mentioned it before and know it is not unique to me.
September 29th, 2015 at 3:32 PM ^
Same, if the thread isn't on the first page I can't get to it.

Yep, that's what I've been doing. Relatively minor annoyance, but would be great if that bug got fixed. I'm not sure if it happens with all browsers, but it's a consistent issue with Chrome.
September 29th, 2015 at 4:59 PM ^
Does it in Explorer too.
September 30th, 2015 at 4:14 AM ^
Awesome. Thanks for that. I've been clicking the mgoboard site, which lists a few more topics than what fits on the sidebar of the main page, or clicking recent to see some on the 2nd page that have gotten bumped, or just looking it at on the mgoblog app, where I can see everything.
