Wow.  I never thought I would live long enough to see a recruiting class that makes me long for the 2010 class.  This one is on pace to do just that.

According to Rivals, our 2016 class is ranked 19 both in overall and average stars. Pretty sure that's usually the high end on where MSU, Wisconsin, and Nebraska usually end up. This is dispite the fact that our coach has only been there five months and has taken over a program that has been nationally embarrassed these past two years. We are also STILL IN ON OUR TOP TARGETS such as Gary and Bredson. Oh did I mention this is the same guy that turned unheard of three stars into Richard Sherman and Colby Fleener? But by all means, go ahead and panic.

You mean the 2010 team with 6 4* or better recruits that included one of the nation's best recruits at QBs (Gardner), DBs (Christian), S (Dorsey), P (Hagerup) as well as a couple of sleepers in Ryan and Dileo?  Yeah, it wasn't a fantastic class when it all played out, but it was a top-25-ish program after a pretty rough year.

This class already looks to be better than that one, and it's only June.  I guess hyperventilating in June gets some people through the summer, but if you are worried about Michigan's recruiting now it's probably more a reflection on you than the program.

'08-'10 were like the worst classes in Michigan Football History.

No disrespect to Gallon or Roundtree, those three classes had like four players anyone will remember (positively) 20 years from now. Denard, Lewan, Mike Martin and Jake Ryan.

I mean we used to get classes with Henne, Hart, Arrington and Branch ALL in the same year! And that doesn't include Jamar Adams, Chris Graham, Tim Jamison, and Morgan Trent who were solid late in their career.

The year before that? Burgess, Crable, Leon Hall, Jake LONG, Rivas and LaMarr Woodley! You're talking about three all time greats!

Avant, Breaston, Harris, Watson in the year before that! Again, some of the greats!

In a 3 year span '08-'10 our classes procuded as much top talent as we used to get in one single year.

And THAT is the problem with Michigan Football. We stopped developing recruits.

So you can keep that bitching and whining...if Harbaugh is going to get guys and make them better, you and your stars can kiss my ass. 2010, pssssh, get the fuck out of here...this is MICHIGAN.

With Hoke, we were tops on the recruiting standings....  With Harbaugh, we'll be tops in the win/loss standings....  I'm riding with Harbaugh on this one.

That's what I was thinking too.  We just offered him at the camp and now he is going to commit without even being on campus?  Not very typical.  Besides, the twitter feed only said he was going to be on the radio show, not that he was announcing a commitment to a school.  He could open it back up now that we offered.  He may feel more big schools would start looking at him.

Lucas was just named a top performer at Michigan's camp down there, and was also described as "excellent" at Alabama's camp (see alum96's thread a few down about top performers). Let's not forget that Harbaugh is able to put these kids through specific drills and situations to evaluate them and see how they perform. If they pass the Harbaugh test, then they are good enough for me.

Hoke recruited well, didn't develop that talent. Harbaugh and this staff are recruiting to their needs. Wins will alleviate many of the doubts about recruiting lower ranked kids.

Time to land some big fish.  MSU just pulled Naquan Jones who I really wanted for us.  They just might have had their best recruiting weekend they ever have.  3 composite 4 stars and a 4th DT that's a 4 star on a couple sites.

Last year a top 10 class of 25 players (for example Texas at #9) required 1 5 star player, 13 4 star players, and 12 3 star players.

Despite having to play catch up, Harbaugh is on pace to do that.

Chill the fuck out.

Listened to the radio show.

Takeaways:

- Coaches are looking at him as an outside linebacker.  They like his speed.

- He's going to the USF camp and UCF camp this summer.  Seems to be looking to pick up more offers and didn't mention a timeline as to when he wants to close it out.

- Initial punch is his best attribute.

- 6'3", 230.
