Michigan clinches another Super Bowl Champion
With the Patriots up 45-7 in the 4th, it's all but done.
The Lombardi Trophy has been hoisted by a Michigan Wolverine 42 times.
And depending on who wins the Patriots-Seahawks showdown, that number could go up to 43 or 45.
Patriots: Tom Brady, Alan Branch, Cam Gordon
Seahawks: Stephen Schilling
Here is every Super Bowl Champion that wore the winged helmet.

Still working on adding that to the 'Guide. Those are a little harder to research but I'll get them soon.
Interesting stat: there are 3 Wolverines that have won both an AFC and an NFC Championship. They all have more things in common than that.
Each of them won a Big Ten Championship and a Rose Bowl with two of them winning a national championship. Those same two guys both won a Super Bowl, as well. Each of them also played in the 90s.
Jon Runyan, Sr. (Titans & Eagles), Charles Woodson (Raiders & Packers) and Jerame Tuman (Steelers & Cardinals).
edit: actually, there are FOUR now. Alan Branch won the NFC Championship with the Cardinals in 2008 and now the AFC with the Patriots.

I went to a lot of games whey Ty Law played. I don't think I've ever had as much fun watching anyone on defense over a long period of time, even Woodson. I just never saw too many guys have much luck getting open against him, even when he was a freshman. Law obviously didn't do the things in the return game and on offense that Woodson did, but he sure was great on his side of the ball.

at Michigan. I agree, he was some shutdown corner. I remember watching games when the opposition wouldn't throw at his side of the field all game, and if they ever did, it always seemed like it was an interception or a near-interception.
He was also great in New England, of course. Three INTs vs. Peyton in the 2003 AFC championship game was some performance.

I also have a complete list of Wolverines to play in the CFL and other obscure pro leagues like the USFL, NFL Europe and the XFL.
Tom Pullen, an End at Michigan from 1965-1967, was the first Canadian to receive a football scholarship here. He went to the CFL after he graduated and won FIVE Grey Cup Championships with two different teams.
His most successful stop was with the now-defunct Ottawa Rough Riders where he won back-to-back Grey Cups on two occasions.

"No Wolverine has been to more Super Bowls than Tom Brady."
Only 1 other player regardless of conference has ever been in 6 superbowls per ESPN - "With his sixth Super Bowl berth, Brady surpassed John Elway for the most by a quarterback and tied defensive lineman Mike Lodish for most by any player."
PS - Lodish was from Detroit, but went to UCLA

He's good. In terms of QBs, maybe the GOAT.

this season and people were wondering whether or not he was past his prime? Yeah I don't think he remembers it either lol. Dang that was a butt kicking. Darn near perfect passes in that kind of weather. Incredible. Here's to a 4th Brady ring! He's the Joe Montana of the 2000's. He needs as many rings as Joe has.
