Zero Point Zero
Notre Dame 31, Michigan 0
Michigan had never been shut out in the history of the Michigan/Notre Dame rivalry. Michigan hadn’t been shut out in any game since Ronald Reagan’s first term. Neither of those things is true right now. In fact, nothing is true but the alcohol.
Football is strange sometimes. Michigan outgained Notre Dame 289-282. If you find comfort in this fact, I applaud your zen-like quality, or the quality of your alcohol. Devin Gardner turned the ball over four times. Matt Wile missed two field goals badly. Devin Funchess may be hurt. Raymon Taylor may be hurt. Jabrill Peppers was too hurt to play. On a day in which the Big Ten looked terrible, Michigan’s performance stands atop the flaming heap as the worst of the day.
This game will cause many questions to be asked. For now, I can provide you with only one answer.

I thought PSU 2013 was the worst moment in recent Michigan football history. At least we scored points that day.

No, "the worst moment in recent Michigan football history" is the posting of this thread at the top of the page spoiling the game for those of us who haven't seen it yet. There needs to be a consideration for those that don't have live or 5 minute delay, but hours delay or more. There are ways to post topics and "news" without blowing and spoiling it out of the water for the rest of us. Thanks !

TraumaDoc, you were done a favor. This game was a tire fire of unheralded proportions.

You should be grateful that you got to rip off that bandaid so quickly. The rest of us endured a lot more frustration and pain last night.

Wait a minute...you didn't want to know the result of the game, but you came here to look at this website 5 hours after the game ended?

Just know not to look, man! I worked until 2am and kept my phone on airplane mode and didn't look at any of the internet until 3:45am, which was abut 2 minutes into the 4th, at which point I decided I didn't want to see how much worse it could get and go to bed.

You can't take a joke, doc?
Nothing worse than a healer with no sense of humor.
Enjoy watching the 57-28 epic comeback thumping M put on the Irish to end the rivalry on your DVR. It'll never be forgotten.

Atleast I didn't waste time to go to this game unlike that one.

A MAC performance!!!!!!

That might be the worst game I've EVER seen out of Michigan. Let's start talking next head coach please. No way Hoke recovers from this unless he pulls a Carr and wins every game after this.
September 6th, 2014 at 11:29 PM ^
That was a terrible game obviously, but you have a short memory. I wish I could say that was the worst Michigan game I've ever seen.

I'm gonna go with Oregon at home in 2006 as worse. But that could be because I was in the stadium for that game. This one was viewed from my recliner where I started taking Bacardi 151 through an IV midway through the 3rd quarter, so that may have taken the edge off. A little.

<sigh> See, it was so bad I repressed the memories temporally. It was like getting repeatedly struck on the head with a blunt object.

The Horror. Period. Stop.
September 7th, 2014 at 9:21 AM ^
The Horror was bad, but at least the team fought back and had a shot to win.
This was total fail from start to finish. With a coaching staff that hasn't proven they can win, particularly on the road.
Fun fact: We're 3-7 in our last ten games, featuring wins against Indiana, Northwestern, and Appalachian State. 3-7. Think about that.
September 7th, 2014 at 2:02 AM ^
but everyone is losing their mind in the moment. I can name several losses from the last 6 years that sucked so much worse than that
- App State - do I seriously have to remind everyone of this? That's the worst loss ever
- Oregon 2007
- Toledo 2008
September 7th, 2014 at 2:41 AM ^
The fact that one can name several losses over the past several years that could be as bad or worse than this one isn't very comforting.
September 7th, 2014 at 8:28 AM ^
My thoughts exactly! It doesnt' make me feel better knowing that yesterday was one of many bad moments in recent history!

The thing that makes the Horror a lesser loss from a competitive aspect is because Michgian wasn't even trying (until too late).
Michigan was trying all it could against ND but just had nothing to give. They were dominated as never before.
The Horror will always win on shock value, but the ND game was a far bigger competitive loss.

Have you looked at their schedule? They play in the Big Ten, which is a terrible conference. There is a chance that they run the table, be it ever so smal, given their inability to beat ranked teams on the road.

The B1G had an awful day. I've never seen a day so bad in the conference. Running the table through this conference will probably get ignored once December arrives.

Can continue to dump millions into the many athletic programs and facility update plans it has while allowing this to continue in their largest revenue sport is beyond me.
While the Oline along with an impressive ND defense had much to do with Devin's struggles tonight, I sure hope Morris gets some reps this season so he's ready to play in 2015 under what I can only hope is a new coaching staff that has a clue and cares more about coaching than trying to act like the players' cool uncle.

To make things worse it was 37-0.

31-0 instead of 37-0? Well at least it wasn't an embarrassment.

We owned them in our two 38-0 wins. BIG-GEST SHUT-OUT!!!
All-time series is still ours, bitches!!!

We still got largest shutout margin of victory chicken biatches.
