I don't think that tells us much. Current players can't really say, "Yeah, coach is a racist" unless they're up dealing with the aftermath of that. If no one said anything I think that would be a pretty clear sign that Sarkisian has issues, but I'm not sure that we can learn much from players defending him. Former players defending him might tell us a little more.
Hopefully Brown will share some details. If something really nasty happened, it's probably in his best interest to do so, since people will be skeptical otherwise.

Unless you have other witnesses to this alleged "racist" conduct it is a he said/he said situation. Without evidence of past actions by Sarkarisian the allegations then stand on a thin branch.

Yes, they can...it's called a mistake. People do things they have to apologize for later every day. That could easily be one of those things.
People make claims every day, not only on race...it doesn't make them correct. And if it can't be proven and if it's put to bed, many times people dismiss those people.
I wouldn't put it past ANY college athlete to make a claim in the heat of emotion. It's part of growing up.
How could you say that? THE SAME TEAM just had a kid lie about saving a life!! Kids make shit up. Especially when they're not thinking.
Just like the first kid had to apologize for lying, it wouldn't shock me at all if this kid is apologizing by the end of the weekend. These wouldn't be the first and won't be the last kids to lie without thinking of the ramifications.
But we'll see what happens with this case, because he could be on to something and maybe he's right.
But for those people acting like this is the Penn State syndrome and people aren't believing the victim, that's garbage. Calling someone a racist and accusing someone of sexual assualt or molestation isn't even remotely the same. Racism claims are made by people of all colors all the damn time, they should be taken seriously, but it's not the same as PSU.

Calling someone a racist and accusing someone of sexual assualt(sic) or molestation isn't even remotely the same. Racism claims are made by people of all colors all the damn time, they should be taken seriously, but it's not the same as PSU.
However, cities haven't erupted into flaming riots because of claims of sexual misconduct, that phenomenon in the US, is almost always seen in the context of claims of racism. So while at the personal level claims of racism are overshadowed by claims of sexual misconduct, at the community level society suffers a greater harm from claims (true or false) of racism. So let's not so easily dismiss claims of racism (true or false) because they're made all the damn time.
Tawany Brawley didn't get away with an apology when she made her false claim of rape, this young man shouldn't be excused with a simple apology if he's proven to have made a false allegation.

... thought I wasn't being played because of my color. I got filled up with a lot of attitude so I quit, still not a week goes by I don't regret it, and I guarantee a week won't go by in your life you won't regret walking out letting them get the best of you. Do you hear me clear enough?

Rudy sucked.
August 28th, 2014 at 4:21 PM ^
the movie or the person? Presumably (and rightfully) both.
August 28th, 2014 at 4:24 PM ^
In order of suckiness, from most to least:
Rudy the player, Rudy the person, Rudy the movie. The movie still sucked though, as anything about Notre Dame tends to do.
August 28th, 2014 at 4:39 PM ^
was much better
August 28th, 2014 at 4:04 PM ^
that in real life in another sport. He transferred, then life interrupted and he never graduated.
August 28th, 2014 at 3:44 PM ^
USC looks like a clown college right now
August 28th, 2014 at 3:46 PM ^
not true if they were a clown college those giant shoes would have distributed Shaw's weight better and he would not have sustained those ankle sprains
August 28th, 2014 at 4:30 PM ^
Simpsons are so hot right now.
August 28th, 2014 at 5:48 PM ^
If ESPN reports it, it must be true...
August 28th, 2014 at 3:44 PM ^
Ready for a double dose of irony? This kid moved from CB to RB for playing time. Now that Shaw is injured/suspended, his chances of playing at CB are significantly better than at RB. Obviously, none of that matters now, calling your coach a racist publically is a burnt bridge no one will be crossing any time soon.
August 28th, 2014 at 7:17 PM ^
of Ty Isaac may have played a part in his decision to move from CB to RB.
August 28th, 2014 at 3:46 PM ^
On when he sayts that his account was hacked?
August 28th, 2014 at 3:46 PM ^
I'm assuming his scholarship gets pulled in this situation, yes? Does this mean he'll quit school 1 year before graduation, or does he go out and get a student loan like the rest of us did?
August 28th, 2014 at 3:49 PM ^
You are making the assumption he was actually doing any school stuff.
August 28th, 2014 at 5:19 PM ^
Anthony Brown didn't go to USC to play school.
August 28th, 2014 at 6:00 PM ^
August 28th, 2014 at 3:49 PM ^
ahead of Brown on the depth chart are white right???
August 28th, 2014 at 3:53 PM ^
Maybe this dude is white and Sark is a reverse racist
August 28th, 2014 at 4:38 PM ^
August 28th, 2014 at 4:57 PM ^
If you are white and hate white people you are just generally self-loathing, but when referring to racism against white people isnt that called reverse racism? I get that is a stupid term racism is racism but I didnt want to confuse anyone.
August 28th, 2014 at 6:44 PM ^
Irony.
Your head.
August 28th, 2014 at 3:59 PM ^
That was literally the first thing that came to mind when I read this. "When did USC get a white runningback?"
August 28th, 2014 at 4:04 PM ^
Charles?
August 28th, 2014 at 4:24 PM ^
If you don't believe there can be white running backs at USC, you probably don't believe in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny either.
August 28th, 2014 at 3:50 PM ^
You are late.
August 28th, 2014 at 3:51 PM ^
August 28th, 2014 at 4:06 PM ^
ty left because his coach is a racist.

August 28th, 2014 at 3:52 PM ^
not getting what he wants, and getting attitude when Sarkisian gives it to him straight. Be very surprised if this story does not die fast and hard.
August 28th, 2014 at 4:13 PM ^
Or maybe Sark said some racist shit and this guy didn't want to play in a toxic environment. Who knows.
August 28th, 2014 at 3:53 PM ^
Everything's coming up Trojans these days. Yikes.

Asking delicately: Armenians aren't white?
August 28th, 2014 at 9:52 PM ^
August 28th, 2014 at 10:32 PM ^
August 28th, 2014 at 4:03 PM ^
Armenians are most certainly considered Caucasian, so I don't think that's a good point to make.
August 28th, 2014 at 4:06 PM ^
August 28th, 2014 at 4:25 PM ^
it was historically and horrifically the other way around
August 28th, 2014 at 4:34 PM ^
Then it's no wonder Armenians want to kill them.
August 29th, 2014 at 5:52 AM ^
The Armenians are quite good at roasting dead chickens and making toum (garlic paste) to spread all over it.
August 29th, 2014 at 5:49 AM ^
Hence my comment. You don't think Armenians want payback, especially that the Turks and Kaiser Soze deny their horrible acts?
August 28th, 2014 at 5:50 PM ^
where many of these atrocities took place. The Turks refuse to even acknowledge they did anything wrong and give tacit, if not outright approval to what the Azerbaijanis are doing to the Armenians now.
Even today the Turks are actively wiping out any vestiges of Armenian culture within their borders.
