Michigan, meh, NYC for Pinstripe or Jacksonville for Gator. Either MSU or OSU makes CFB Final 4, ugh.
playing against a Florida team. I like our chances in the Pinstripe Bowl vs Miami (YTM).
And a big ass assumption that either one of these guys' predictions come true.
After the players have already quit on the team, then we will have a new coach. Hopefully none of this happens and we are all shocked by a 10-2 season.
I wouldn't exactly consider myself shocked if we went 10-2.
I would.
I hope not. Unless you can get a stud coach, I favor giving Hoke at least one more season after this regardless of outcome. Switching coaches over and over is not conducive to winning or recruiting.
neither is going 8-5 and 7-6 in a 2 year stretch
Fine, but that part already happened. So under his scenario, it would mean we went 8-5 and 7-6 in a two year stretch and switched coaches.
I guess we're just fucked no matter what we do, it's a terrible circle we're stuck in, can't recruit because we're losing, and since we're losing we switch coaches, which leads to ushaving terrible recruiting, which leads to us losing......
Yes Sir
there's a "Camellia Bowl." shoot me now.
And this is where it's being played
What is that?
EDIT: See Below
Even better, it's going to be played in a 25,000 stadium that once housed a minor league baseball team and is also the home of several high school football teams in the Montgomery area. As I recall, the Camellia Bowl was the name of an old Division II quarterfinal game back in the day as well. It seems only fitting somehow that the tie-ins would be the MAC and the Sun Belt in this case.
is that it is the second best stadium in Montgomery, Alabama. D-1AA Alabama State built a pretty nice 27K stadium with luxury boxes that opened in 2012.
But ESPN, which owns the Camellia Bowl, had the final call on the facility - and decided to go w/ the Cramton Bowl because the logistics would evidentally be easier (according to them).

Show Me the Way
That park appears to likely favor right-handed batters a little bit.
If not, may God have mercy on your soul.
You can eat Landon Donovan's since he's not using it anytime soon
Too soon?
Shots fired.
But not at a net.
Too soon?

... too late?
Stop, child. Most people have MSU as a more likely playoff participant than UM is to be 10-2, which some in this thread are predicting.
Have you seen their schedule? If they find a way to beat Oregon, its damn near a certainty that they'll be in the playoff.
They play @Oregon, @Maryland, and @Penn State. They host Nebraska, Michigan, and Ohio State, plus whoever they potentially would meet in a B1G championship game. That is not an easy schedule. "damn near a certainty" is a fairly ridiculous statement.
Who on that list besides Oregon do you give a higher than 50% chance of beating them? They beat us, Nebraska, and OSU last year and all three of those teams lose just as much as MSU. Depleted Penn State with a new coach? Mediocre Maryland? I think they lose to Oregon, but I have a hard time seeing more than 1 loss on the rest of that schedule. If they beat Oregon, I don't want to think about it . . . .
I hate MSU as much as anyone, but unfortunately their success is no fluke at this point. It's going to take a well coached, athletic team to beat them as they are built now. Frankly, those are rare in the B1G. They no longer beat themselves, and even if their offense tries, the defense makes up for a lot of errors.
Well coached and good, yep. That's a long, long way from "damn near certainty". And probability doesn't work in the way you seem to believe. A 60% probability (even if I granted, which I won't at this point) of beating Ohio in a game and a 60% probability of beating Michigan in a game doesn't mean they're 60% likely to win both games. It means there's a 36% chance they'll win both.
I think they'll be one of several teams with two conference losses in season. Add the B1G championship game and I don't see them or any other B1G team in the playoff, at least in the East. Except Michigan, of course.
Remember the good old days when we used to laugh at Notre Dame's and the whole "returning to glory since......" meme?
That's not nearly as funny as it used to be.
Kinda like wearing cheap suit...everyone knows.
I am in Wenona Lodge #256 in Bay City. You should join a Lodge if you feel the calling, no one will chastise you for being busy. Participate when you can and learn much about your self in the process. Go Blue...

By all means...seek those who look to *the east* for guidance. All you've got to do is,ask one.
Btw,learning the history helps too of,both houses.
If we end up in either of these bowls, Hoke will most likely be gone. I hope this does not happen.
If history is any indication this bowl projection would have us at about 7.5 wins as that's the average of the teams that have played in the bowl it's first four years. So 7-5 or 8-4 would definitely be "in play" according to this writer.
FWIW I dont see Hoke going anywhere at 8-4 unless it's a season ending series of beat-downs a-la RichRod in 2010. 7-5 will make things iffy unless one of the wins is against MSU or OSU IMO ub which case I think Brady will get a fifth year.
People will be irate if we go 8-4 with losses to MSU and OSU and Hoke is retained.
Actually this is exactly right. It would also be the worst thing that could happen to the program as recruiting will absolutely dry up in Hoke's 5th year. He will be on a "death watch" and nobody is coming here under those circumstances.
even with a win against OSU or MSU is real iffy. You figure that would be 1-2 against the rivals and 6-3 against the rest of the schedule (App St, Miami (OH), Utah, Minny, Rutgers, PSU, Inidiana, Maryland and Northwestern). I miss the old days when the rest of the schedule should be 8 wins and possibly a tough game against PSU.
We have two rivalry games this year. Notre Dame cannot be seen as a serious rival anymore.
I hope you are wishing for a great season and not that Brady stay around just because you like him. Hell, I've never met anyone who doesn't like the guy. He's very personable and you don't corral the amount of talent he is getting unless both parents and players think likewise. ^Howeva, and you can count me in as one who likes him as a person, he has yet to prove he can win at this level. Hell, he has yet to prove he can do it consistently anywhere. The timing of his changes in venue are almost as serendipitous as those of Lane Kiffin. He has taken both of his former teams from cellar dwellers to the top and immediately following that "one glorious year," fortunes have rolled in his favor and he has been able to land a better job, and in this case, one of the most sought after in cfb. Hell, the coach with the best record in the nation from 2005 through 2007 left a Top Five finish every year for this school, after turning down the school that's been ruling ever since. Would BH have maintained his stance among the top in his conferences. Chances are probably good based on the simple fact that no other coach in much weaker conferences could collect as much true D1 talent as he. ^I do realize it took a few years and the perfect storm for MSU to pass M as the "it" school in the state, but the man, despite being as difficult to like as Brady is easy, has proven he belongs. Too many coaches in this league collect great talent and MSU, despite the stars are coaching the hell out of those two, mostly three stars and have continuously outrecruited us on the defensive front for the past three seasons. That hurts. I too hope Brady returns but based on say 10, maybe 11 wins.
It's May. I'd rather have threads full of spoilers for TV shows I don't watch than this nonsense.
