Here's what the '97 trophy looks like:

Honestly, that looks like something you'd win for Salesman of the Month in 1977...

Looks like they made it and somebody said "hmm, looks like a lot of wood, maybe we should spice it up" ... "how about two diagonal gold lines across the center?" ... "god damnit Ned, you're a genius"

Ned was a genius twice? Must have been a heck of a guy.

That is one uninspiring looking trophy!

The angle is bad, it’s actually about 7 feet tall. It’s a major award.

AP farmed that work out to a high school shop class.

Ranking the national championship trophies:
1) The Crystal Football
2) all the others. AP, CFP, NFF, whatever. They're pretty much all footballs on a stick. Which so is the Coaches' trophy but it's a CRYSTAL BALL that tells you the PAST
Ranking Bowl Game Trophies
1) New Mexico Bowl
2) Orange Bowl
3) Liberty Bowl bell
4) The Hawaii Bowl Pineapple Football
5) The Mayo Bowl
6) Any other ones that use a bowl
6+n) All the ones that are not bowls but not footballs on a stick
6+n+1) All the ones that are footballs on a stick
Really think the Rose Bowl would benefit from some rosey imagery, either on the ball or on a bowl or something. Maybe a crown of roses. No idea but it's a boring trophy. But I'm pumped to win it haha

Somewhere out there in an alternate universe Dave Brandon‘s doppelgänger is making plans to add this to our former Kraft macaroni & cheese sculpture to "enhance" the game time experience.

Yes Alex, i’ll take “what’s more embarrassing than Brady Hoke apologizing to Dantonio” for $100 please.

Sweeeeet!

I don't give a damn about the Coaches Poll, and those fuckers were the ones that screwed us in 1997, but damn, that crystal football is sweeet.
I'm very glad to finally have it here now.

1) New Mexico Bowl

Damn journalists probably sent it C.O.D.

Don’t get too attached to it. Every OSU fan on the interwebs tell me that the NCAA is going to bust into Schembechler Hall, Terminator style, and enact swift, vengeful justice on the cheating scumbags that are Michigan football, and will score a big victory for truth, justice, and the downtrodden of college football.

This ain't over. They'll be coming after Ohio State for some stuff . . .
January 15th, 2024 at 7:40 PM ^
Love how OSU fans were so concerned with rules violations at the same time they were literally buying Judkins.
