Bummer, but not a total surprise.
What is wild is both Clemson and Andrel Anthony would be fighting for Cornelius Johnson's spot this offseason. Now they're both gone.
+ Amorion Walker plays defense.
Time to hit the portal. We need a big bodied WR...we actually need two.

This sucks. He seemed to have the most potential just to be a big time receiver, at least relative to how we use receivers.

Damn! We were going to need him next year. Big Bummer!

Other than O'Leary, I don't think we currently have a WR over 6'.
That's, not great. We're going to need a couple guys from the portal.
Ideally a big body possession guy and a tall, lanky, leapy, fade route guy.
Anyone know if Marquise Walker and Adrian Arrington have eligibility left?

No, but Amorion Walker does!

Gonna be hard to get top WR’s if we don’t throw the ball more than 15-18 times a game. Not complaining, just the reality. I had high hopes for this young man! Wish him the best!

I really thought with Wilson and Johnson moving on he'd take another crack at it. Super disappointing.

If we run the OrjiCat wishbone we’ll only need one wide receiver. Maybe none.

We need another Mario Manningham …

Unfortunately, we don’t run an offense that would maximize a Maningham. If we couldn’t get it done with JJ (strong downfield passing game) don’t know when we will. But I will definitely take the alternative 😊

When Jay leaves with Jim, I really hope they switch Bellamy back over to the defense and bring in a more established WR coach. Alongside OT, this has solidly been a bottom 2 position group on the team for a few years running.

Also quite possible he just wants to play in an offense that throws more than this one.
Three of our top five reception guys were not WR. Yes, the top two were and both are gone. But I can't blame the guy if that's his reason. Not likely to get more than 60 catches a year in this offense, and that's only IF you're the #1 receiving option.
Wish him the best, but I am not losing sleep over it. We still have Loveland and Morris and Morgan are fine options and I'm sure we'll have another TE step up into the Barner role too.
