Only rumors at this point. But this would be hilarious, and might drag Iowa's offense out of the Ferentz Zone.

I hope he gets a 25 ppg contract clause too lol

He hasn’t commented on his intentions for next season, so people assume he’s retiring.

Not a great assumption IMO. I think his attitude is “you can have this team back when you pry it from my cold dead hands”

OTOH, I wrote many many times that I didn’t expect for Ferentz the Younger to be fired. And here we are.

He's 68 and the AD just fired his offensive coordinator--who also happened to be his son. So probably lots of people just assumed Ferentz would retire rather than stand for that. But perhaps it was just that--an assumption. Still seems like he could call it a career after the bowl game, but not if he's hiring a new coordinator.

Ferentz strikes me as a pretty young 68 and he's still a very good coach, so perhaps he does indeed plan to stick around? Honestly, having the AD fire his son might actually be liberating--perhaps Kirk recognized that Brian wasn't getting it done and just couldn't do it himself, but now that Brian's gone he can get the upgrade they so badly needed?

This is actually impressive if you ask me.  Joke all you want but this is a strong hire; however, what happens when Ferentz retires which I am assuming will be soon.

Very doubtful.

1. Kirk Ferentz does not have a good history with Frost.

2. If Kirk Ferentz is NOT the HC for 2024, then why would Frost be the OC

3. therefore doubtful - just clickbait stuff.
