Penn State Snowflakes: The Offense

It was a hostile environment, which you could clearly see communicating was tough. If the runs working, keep doing it. 

That first touchdown drive was a series of beautiful calls against the PSU defense

The only opportunity PSU really had to win was to win the turnover battle in the second half, and hope those turnovers led to short fields and points. Michigan had moved the ball well enough on the ground in the second quarter, and it’s defense had stifled PSU’s offense enough, that running the ball like UM did with essentially no passing was a calculated gamble by Moore that was unlikely to lose.
And the way the game was going at the time, if Michigan had made that interception they probably score again and win 31-9 going away, a beat down of a top ten team on the road which is what the game really felt like at the end. 

It was mentioned in the "Theory of no passing" thread that one of the reasons we ran so much in the second half was that our tackles couldn't handle PSUs defensive ends. I think this is at least partially true. Barnhardt got burnt several times.  I didn't catch Henderson specifically getting burnt but there was a lot of pressure from both sides and I heard Chop Robinson's name a lot.   

Looking past Maryland, I wonder how we're going to hold up against JT Tuimoloau and Jack Sawyer.  I watched  OSU vs. ND and PSU and their defense didn't look like world beaters, but JTT had some big plays and Jack Sawyer's name came up a few times.   I'm mainly going off of their recruiting rankings.  Can our tackles handle these guys?  

Is LaDarius Henderson vs. Jack Sawyer  better or worse than Ryan Hayes versus Zach Harrison?

I thought JJ would be passing more but if you can manhandle the great PSU DLINE and run it down their throats, then why pass! Nice to get the run game back to where it was last year. 

My question after the game and the resulting discussion is what exactly would JJ have to do to gain some trust?
