Here we go again! I personally don’t think he leaves. When he days he’s done I believe he’s done. That said, if we win the CFP all bets are off.
December 4th, 2022 at 10:29 AM ^
I think he'd be great for the colts , a good fit
December 4th, 2022 at 10:30 AM ^
They can’t have him. The NFL sucks.
December 4th, 2022 at 10:33 AM ^
They can look into it all they want, Jim said what he said.
December 4th, 2022 at 10:46 AM ^
"You can get a good look at a T bone by sticking your head up a bull's ass but wouldn't you rather just take the butcher's word for it?"
December 4th, 2022 at 10:55 AM ^
"By sticking your head up a butcher's ass...
"no wait..."
December 4th, 2022 at 11:02 AM ^
Wow. You have derailed.
December 4th, 2022 at 11:43 AM ^
It's gotta be YOUR bull
December 4th, 2022 at 11:50 PM ^
Shut up, Richard.
December 4th, 2022 at 10:34 AM ^
Urban Meyer probably started this rumor, trying to damage Michigan’s recruiting like it was damaged a year ago. Harbaugh seems very happy with this team and his job, and said he was done with the NFL. That’s good enough for me.
December 4th, 2022 at 11:41 AM ^
Urban Meyer can lick my nutsack. I hate watching that fucker on the coverage of these games.
December 4th, 2022 at 11:43 AM ^
I don’t want Urban ANYWHERE near my nutsack.
December 4th, 2022 at 3:27 PM ^
I'm with you Dutchman (minus the nutsack part). Seeing that smug, lying bastard here in Ann Arbor all the time this year has been intolerable. You can tell the half-hearted compliments he gives Michigan are insincere.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:58 PM ^
He stated last year he is done with the NFL and wants to coach UM as long as they will have him. I take him for his word and expect him here until he retires
December 4th, 2022 at 1:40 PM ^
Harbaughs as goofy as it gets but he definitely seems like a man of his word. I would like to see him squash it though so it doesn’t hurt recruiting. Go after Ryan Day. After Georgia takes any last shred of hope from them he’ll have to leave town…perfect fix.
December 4th, 2022 at 10:34 AM ^
Jim gave the Vikings job all the residual interest he had in the NFL. They didn't reciprocate. He moved on.
“I called Warde (Manuel, the Michigan athletic director) and I asked him if he wanted me to be the head coach. And he said, ‘Yes, 100 percent.’ And I said, OK then. That’s what I want to do.’
“And I told him, ‘Warde, this will not be a reoccurring theme every year. This was a one time thing.”
“I’m an honest person,” he said. “There was a large pull there (for the NFL.) But I didn’t feel it was that way for both parties. And that’s it. That’s my mindset now.”
So that chapter is closed?
“Yes.”
You are 100% dedicated to Michigan?
“Yes. … Actually, I told Warde, ‘From here on out, I’m working at the pleasure of the University of Michigan, because that’s, in my heart, where I want to be.”
Don't give oxygen to this stuff. He's here until the day he hangs up his whistle for good.
December 4th, 2022 at 10:45 AM ^
And Harbaugh, for all his idiosyncrasies, is if nothing else one of the few honest football coaches. He wasn't hiding that he wanted to go to the NFL, and he's not hiding that that chapter of his life is closed now.
Rumors gonna rumor, not least because the people who start them usually have ulterior motives.
December 4th, 2022 at 10:59 AM ^
Exactly. Not a lot of football coaches can say that. He is a honest guy.
December 4th, 2022 at 11:36 AM ^
May as well save this to copy and paste a few times a week until spring practice starts.
December 4th, 2022 at 10:35 AM ^
Don't feed the pigeons.
December 4th, 2022 at 10:39 AM ^
I don't think most fans would be terribly upset if Jim Harbaugh went to the NFL after winning a National Championship. That said, I don't think that will happen. Jim Harbaugh didn't say he's staying at Michigan until he wins a title or finishes what he started or whatever. He said I'm staying a Michigan as long as they'll have me. JH is a lot of things but he doesn't strike me as a bullshitter.
December 4th, 2022 at 10:48 AM ^
Agreed. I dont think it’s in JH’s nature to be a bullshitter. It’s been discussed before, but I do think Jim has a touch of the Asperger’s. My son does as well, and one aspect of this is that my son is, to a fault, a truth teller. He had to be taught about ‘little white lies’ in social skills class. (Sometimes he even lets you know that what he just told you was a white lie to make you feel better, haha).
December 4th, 2022 at 3:32 PM ^
Aspergers? No. My daughter has high functioning Aspergers and I don't see any attributes she shows in Harbaugh. Telling the truth is just probably largely related to his parenting and upbringing. Just my opinion.
December 4th, 2022 at 4:12 PM ^
He is not an Aspy. His athleticism rules that out.
December 4th, 2022 at 10:40 AM ^
I've seen this movie before... back to back to back Big Ten Champions?
December 4th, 2022 at 10:41 AM ^
We're 13-0, first time. Beat the bucknuts twice, once in the Stadium Now Known as the Bidet. Going to the CFP, second time in two years. The guy's legacy is now set as A Great Coach
Life as a Wolverine is fantastic right now and you want to buzzkill a great day with this yakyak rumor nonsense? You're like the guy who starts wondering, out loud, at a beautiful wedding ceremony if the beautiful 20-something bride will die from breast cancer by the time she's 40.
Timeout chair ...
December 4th, 2022 at 1:27 PM ^
Umm what? I’m not lending any credence to this just posting for enjoyment. Chill out.
December 4th, 2022 at 3:30 PM ^
Timing, my dear fellow senior, matters. And your timing for posting this muck raking bit of oh my gosh speculative silliness is way off. Try to enjoy the positives of the moment.
See negbangs for your thread. I repeat, timing matters.
December 4th, 2022 at 10:41 AM ^
They don't have any inside information. Last night he was literally coaching a game. I doubt going to the NFL is on his mind. Maybe in February, he interviews but he's not leaking anything to anyone in the middle of a 13-0 season.
December 4th, 2022 at 10:46 AM ^
Also, next year Michigan will probably be preseason 1 or 2. I doubt he would want to give that up for a crappy NFL team. Look what happened to Beilein.
December 4th, 2022 at 10:52 AM ^
Gimme a break. Jim Harbaugh loves where he is. That is all.
December 4th, 2022 at 10:57 AM ^
The Harbaugh Era: one thing the media knows for sure is that he either should be fired or get an NFL job
December 4th, 2022 at 10:58 AM ^
I remember when many of you wanted him gone... I remember. Glad he stuck around and the NFL didn't want him then.
Fire culture and stars matter culter and nil or bust culture is ruining the sport.
December 4th, 2022 at 11:16 AM ^
Fire culture - Ryan Day is feeling that big time!
December 4th, 2022 at 11:21 AM ^
Unreal how much has changed in the past 15 months. The searchbits period of 2020 feels like some scary sliding doors shit now
Very very glad we aren't mired in Year 2 of Tom Allen
December 4th, 2022 at 11:44 AM ^
Remember when all these dumbasses wanted Matt Campbell? Like 40% of the "fans" here.
December 4th, 2022 at 11:46 AM ^
And how Jeff Hafley was the next big thing
Whoops!
December 4th, 2022 at 2:53 PM ^
I never thought that he should be fired but I definitely wanted Hafley or Leipold as a replacement if there was a mutual parting of ways. Very glad we stuck with Harbs in though I am glad Leipold is doing great after getting to the P5.
December 4th, 2022 at 10:59 AM ^
😂 the annual tradition
It’s great to have the current B1G and National coach of the year!

Don't feed the troll dude.

When sharing troll posts, it's best not to embed an actual link because that makes the site/article look more legitimate to search engines.

I dunno, money talks...and it'll be a lot of money doing the talking...
December 4th, 2022 at 11:46 AM ^
Money has never seemed like a major factor in his life. Probably of even less importance now that he is already rich by any reasonable standards. The difference between the millions he's making now and the additional millions he could make in the NFL would have no effect on his life or his family's life.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:56 PM ^
This is a bad, bad take. Jim gave away a huge amount of his (bonus) money to the staff of the Michigan athletic department to help offset the hardships felt by these employees during the pandemic.
He was testing the NFL waters because he would like to try for a Super Bowl win again. I don't think money has anything to do with it.
December 4th, 2022 at 12:59 PM ^
You think money motivates the guy? Huh? That's why he redirected his $$$ to his coaching staff?
Nah, money doesn't seem to entice him. He's grinning like a kid now and dragging his players to the microphones. He loves The Game of Football and when his kids/players win.
December 4th, 2022 at 11:10 AM ^
Its always interesting that the firsr articles every year are written by the same reporters which happen to be NFL reporters.
December 4th, 2022 at 11:12 AM ^
He tried to get out as soon as they lost to Georgia last year. I think it depends on if he's happy with what he's accomplished. If he thinks he can keep this streak with Michigan he'll stay, if he think's he's accomplished what he can and is happy with it (and the right place offer in the NFL shows up) then he's out.
December 4th, 2022 at 11:54 AM ^
Have you ever said anything thoughtful?
December 4th, 2022 at 1:21 PM ^
No he/she hasn’t, known fucking troll just auto downvote UMFlint and move on.
December 4th, 2022 at 11:13 AM ^
Seriously, piss off with this shit. Do you understand how much the NFL dalliance hurt our program last year? Harbaugh was unequivocal this spring that he's not considering the NFL anymore.
And this article isn't even news. The article says several NFL teams are "doing background work" on Harbaugh. Any responsible NFL front office with coaching instability is "doing background work" on all the top college coaches each year. GTFO
December 4th, 2022 at 11:14 AM ^
Harbaugh to the USFL!
