Iowa pick 6 to take the lead!
September 24th, 2022 at 7:38 PM ^
I turned to Iowa game and the first thing I see is swarming defense and pick-sux.
September 24th, 2022 at 7:40 PM ^
Well, there's not gonna be offense. I was surprised to see a field goal.
September 24th, 2022 at 7:38 PM ^
Ugh, ten points already. Take the UNDER they said, it'll be fun, they said.
September 24th, 2022 at 7:40 PM ^
Points with a stunning 10-1 lead over Punts early on.
September 24th, 2022 at 7:47 PM ^
Yes, but defensive points out to a not surprising 7-3 lead over offensive points.
Who will win between them and punts?
September 24th, 2022 at 7:48 PM ^
Will be neat seeing CJ Stroud in a Lions uniform.
September 24th, 2022 at 7:52 PM ^
He is very very good at throwing to wide open receivers
September 24th, 2022 at 8:43 PM ^
Not to mention with no pressure- a lot like Justin Fields and Dwayne Haskins. Doesn't really cut it in the NFL. Of course, we haven't really stuck a QB in the NFL in a long time, much less high draft picks. Won't have the GOAT much longer. Then QB U of the 90's will have nothing.
September 24th, 2022 at 8:50 PM ^
Except maybe some guy named JJ.
September 24th, 2022 at 7:56 PM ^
I don't think the Lions suck enough to get him. They look mediocre and possibly even fun.
September 24th, 2022 at 8:04 PM ^
I guess that's a good thing though!
September 24th, 2022 at 8:06 PM ^
Means they need to hit on a QB around 10th. They're not actually good yet.
September 24th, 2022 at 7:50 PM ^
Why is Herbie shouting?
September 24th, 2022 at 7:51 PM ^
OSU is good at football again.
Hope it’s snowing in November :)
September 24th, 2022 at 8:03 PM ^
Wisconsin might be real bad. That is a possibility worth considering here.
September 24th, 2022 at 8:12 PM ^
They're not mutually exclusive.
September 24th, 2022 at 8:46 PM ^
I would not want to take the offense we saw today into OSU. Hopefully, we'll see a steep learning curve for JJ. OSU's scheme just makes it look so easy for the QB. Stroud almost never has to even make a 2nd read. We've got a lot of work to do, and hopefully that is something to do with the ineptness of Wisconsin. Penn State's D will be an interesting test.
September 24th, 2022 at 8:48 PM ^
Graham Mertz has been so bad for so long that it's like he's a piece of Wisconsin furniture, in a house that's badly in need of remodeling.
September 24th, 2022 at 7:53 PM ^
I actually think the matchup against Iowa is better than Maryland.
September 24th, 2022 at 9:45 PM ^
I agree with you, but JJ's first game a Kinnick could be a factor.
September 24th, 2022 at 7:56 PM ^
THE OSU should be banned from college football for wearing those uniforms.
September 24th, 2022 at 7:59 PM ^
Texas Tech pride.
September 24th, 2022 at 8:49 PM ^
Those things are nasty.
September 24th, 2022 at 7:58 PM ^
Wisconsin is terrible.
September 24th, 2022 at 7:58 PM ^
I knew we couldn't go two years without Ohio State learning the concept of setting the edge but it still makes me sad.
September 24th, 2022 at 8:20 PM ^
The new DC (Jim Knowles) knows what he's doing. Watching the same personnel actually get off blocks this year is amazing. I realize they're supposed to learn that in Pee-Wee league, but it seemed like a foreign concept for the last three years or so.
Should be a lot of fun to see Corum vs. a well-coached OSU defense. I can't imagine him not getting yards; it's just a matter of whether they're consistent enough to sustain drives.
Plus, Knowles' defensive philosophy is to get everyone on the team comfortable with the idea of giving up a few big plays per game. He's willing to surrender a couple of 1 or 2 play touchdown drives, if it means that they're committing more resources on the other plays. So they are, by design, going to give UM opportunities for shots downfield. The difference between hitting the two that Knowles is willing to live with vs. the four that means the offense needs to score 49+ is, obviously, huge.
September 24th, 2022 at 8:47 PM ^
Well, we'll see in Nov. if they've learned to hit, get off blocks and cover receivers.
September 24th, 2022 at 7:58 PM ^
wow nice throw Mertz!
September 24th, 2022 at 7:59 PM ^
Wisconsin has got nothing for the Buckeyes. They are gonna get run off the field
September 24th, 2022 at 7:59 PM ^
What is Wisconsin doing?
September 24th, 2022 at 7:59 PM ^
Why is it so hard for our coaches to scheme wide open receivers like osu does. We make it so hard
September 24th, 2022 at 8:01 PM ^
Guys were pretty open all day today.
September 24th, 2022 at 8:02 PM ^
What game did you watch?
September 24th, 2022 at 8:04 PM ^
Live in the Stadium. So I could see downfield. Guys were open, JJ didn't see them.
September 24th, 2022 at 8:13 PM ^
Agree 100%. He missed lots and lots of open guys, and overthrew a couple TDs. I think he’ll be the first to say he’s ready to go look at film and get better next week.
September 24th, 2022 at 8:18 PM ^
He did say it after the game.
September 24th, 2022 at 8:06 PM ^
You could see it in the replays too.
September 24th, 2022 at 9:25 PM ^
Very weird. The announcers kept saying how our receivers were "blanketed" as they showed replays of our receivers wide open and waving for the ball.
September 24th, 2022 at 10:02 PM ^
The game where Michigan's receivers were quite wide open and McCarthy either didn't see them or overthrew them.
The Fox announcers did a disservice to what was actually happening in the game with their coverage seemingly based on a completely different one that was happening in an alternative reality.
September 24th, 2022 at 8:02 PM ^
Wtf is OSU wearing? Look, I hate them with the fire of 1000 suns, but they do have an iconic uniform. Don’t fuck with it too much.
Go all red? Ok. Go all grey? Ok. Maybe do a big buckeye plant on the chest like we did with the M on the UTL1 jerseys. But all black? No.
September 24th, 2022 at 8:03 PM ^
Looks like OSU is taking WI to the woodshed!
September 24th, 2022 at 8:03 PM ^
Points 10, Punts 4
September 24th, 2022 at 8:07 PM ^
Mertz is just so, so bad. Wisconsin is toast before the 1st quarter is over
September 24th, 2022 at 8:15 PM ^
Wisconsin always seems to have average to below average QB's. With the exception of the Russell Wilson transfer year, QB always seems to be a weak link for them.
September 24th, 2022 at 8:07 PM ^
This game will go a long way to telling us whether Ohio State is good this year or if Wisconsin is ass. It would be our luck for the Badgers to be straight ass in a year we don't need to overtake them.
September 24th, 2022 at 8:12 PM ^
We proved last year WI was ass, this year they look like bigger ass!
September 24th, 2022 at 8:15 PM ^
My early vote is that Wisconsin is … no so good.
September 24th, 2022 at 8:16 PM ^
WI use to have a good defense and good running backs! Not any longer! They are just a middling B1G west team.
September 24th, 2022 at 8:18 PM ^
It could be that OSU is just throwing too much at them. I’m thinking that OSU is good.
