A long time ago, I changed professions. It was a radical change, a big drop in salary and a lifestyle change. A friend of mine in the same profession also quit his job around the same time to become a stand up comedian. He had a head start on me and gave me a very wise piece of advice: don't make a judgment or evaluation until 6 months in. There are a lot of daily ups and downs and if you draw a conclusion too early and, say, quit, you may be doing it too soon. See how things play out. I think this is excellent advice this basketball season.

So... wait until April and the season is over to make a judgement on the team?

I didn't literally mean 6 months. My point is that teams grow and change during the season so to jump to the conclusion now that the team is a failure when there's so much time left is premature. Maybe this season will be a disappointment but it's just too early to tell.

Please don't tell me someone on this board offered to give their left one for a victory over OSU football.

When's the last time a program in the Big Ten won the conference championship and then finished dead last in the conference in the following year?
