OT - Extra slot in YouTube TV Account
I have an open slot in my YouTube TV account as of Feb 1st. How this works is that you'll be provided a burner gmail address / password to login to YouTube TV - this way we both can know the password to that account (as opposed to giving a stranger the password to your real gmail account) and I can login for you every 90 days locally where the account is based (as I also know the password) so you won't get the YouTube TV nag about being outside of the geographic area.
Payment will be done via Venmo - I send a payment request on the 1st of the month - this will run $22/month. If you're interested, e-mail me at mgovault at gmail dot com.

I just found out I've inherited a bunch of money from a Nigerian prince. Perhaps we're related and can share. I just need a little info...

First American to scam 2 Nigerians.

This was funny! My only question is whether they were the sons of the deposed King and living in Chicago while their inheritance was being wired to them???

I feel like this is a pyramid scheme

King Tut was the master of them.

On a semi-related note, I noticed that Hulu Live removed FSD from the lineup. Did anyone else notice this, or is it just a NW Ohio change? I'll likely have to switch providers once the spring rolls around.

Sinclair Broadcasting group owns the fox regional sports networks and is in a pissing contest with streaming platforms. They don't exist on any streaming service right now.
I was bummed because I really wanted to watch the Wings opener and I discovered FSD is no longer available on YouTube TV.

Co-signed. I just posted this in the Regional Sports thread:
This is a problem. Last October Sinclair Communications basically cut off all their regional sports affiliation with YouTube TV, FUBU and the other streamers. Meaning here in Cleveland I cant get Cavs or Indians games on the TV unless I go back to a cable or direct TV - neither of which I want to do.
Allegedly Fox is going to launch their own PPV service you can purchase but yesterday I downloaded FoxGo on Roku only to again to get blocked because I didnt have one of the big boy providers.
I'm guess this will get resolved at some point given the overall move to cord cutting but as of now it sucks as there appears to be no way around this for all of us

VPN and NHL Center Ice. It's not the cheapest option but you'll catch any wings game.

I lost it several months ago on Hulu. I guess the provider wanted too much $$$. I noticed Hulu has gone up quite a bit on their monthly billing since I first signed up 7 years ago. So much for saving buck over cable.
January 21st, 2021 at 10:55 AM ^
Psvue did that, then youtube tv did it. It's not an isolated thing. They keep jacking up rates when you would expect the efficiencies of delivering only digital content through the internet would cause them to go down over time. I don't know if that's from the content providers putting the squeeze on companies like Hulu and Hulu is just passing the buck, but it sucks regardless.
Still better than dealing with att (DirecTV)

I'm stuck in Heathrow Airport and I need to get back to the States asap. Some hooligan stole my wallet so I'm in a real pickle. If someone would be kind enough to reply with a credit card number I would be greatly obliged.

1-800-mastercard. Oh, you didn't mean that credit card number?

It’s not a pyramid scheme. It’s a reverse funnel system.
January 21st, 2021 at 8:09 AM ^
lmao, YouTubeTV is $65/month and you get 6 linked accounts. Seems like someone's looking to make a buck.
January 21st, 2021 at 8:21 AM ^
Even with the 6 linked "family" accounts still limited by watching simultaneously on 3 devices so $22 makes sense (this coming from a schmuck paying for his family's TV access and is still salty about the increase for Viacom channels that no one cares about).
January 21st, 2021 at 8:27 AM ^
Yeah, I have YouTubeTV and they're strict about the 3 streams at a time thing. This seems like a reasonable deal to me.
January 21st, 2021 at 8:38 AM ^
Until the people paying $22/mo realize that the OP has 3 different TVs going all day, so their only option is to watch tv late at night?
January 21st, 2021 at 9:08 AM ^
Meh, I've got 6 on my account and it's literally never been a problem in the few years I've had it. I guess if you had 6 people with the same viewing habits it might be an issue.
The increases are annoying though. "Here's some new channels, we're bumping up the price! (Oh, by the way, we're also removing some channels...)"
January 21st, 2021 at 9:37 AM ^
"I guess if you had 6 people with the same viewing habits it might be an issue."
If you have more than three Michigan fans on the account, it's an issue.
January 21st, 2021 at 9:41 AM ^
Why would someone pay for 1/3 of the account when there might be more than 3 Michigan fans on the account? Is this new member getting priority if the other members are watching?
January 21st, 2021 at 9:44 AM ^
There are only three subscribers on the account - I cap it at three. YouTube caps the account at three simultaneous streams (hence you wouldn't more than three Michigan fans). $22 x 3 = $66, which covers the cost of the subscription evenly.
January 21st, 2021 at 8:50 AM ^
He will post every other month until he gets all 5 slots filled at 22/mo, so he could be looking at pocketing $110.00 - 65 = $45.00 per month. Not bad.
January 21st, 2021 at 8:15 AM ^
I'll pay you exactly $10.8333333 for that slot.
January 21st, 2021 at 8:26 AM ^
Ask again in 8 months. I might be interested.

is a great streaming site. They come and go so this won't last forever, but for football and basketball this year I've been able to watch every game I've wanted, and in HD. Problem is that you can only watch live of course.
January 21st, 2021 at 11:57 AM ^
Agree... burner laptop... push to OLED 65"... I haven't missed anything I wanted to watch in years. I also have been fortunate to benefit from the kindness of others on other services.
