Best thing to come out of all of this: Puppies get to frolic in the Georgia Aquarium.

Wrong. All the shit posting and politics is the best thing.

I was only 13 the last time this country had a true crisis so maybe I was more naive then, but I don’t recall people giving a flying flip about partisan politics for at least a few months after 9/11. I was hoping for at least that amidst Covid...I was way wrong.
March 27th, 2020 at 12:53 PM ^
I was ~20 at that time. You’re right, it was different.
March 27th, 2020 at 12:56 PM ^
I suggest the difference comes from the top.
Oh zip it. It comes from both sides.
I suggest you go for a walk outside.
I suggest you're forgetting how unpopular and divisive Bush (or the idea of a Bush presidency) was immediately following what many in Gore's camp thought was a stolen election.
You mean “Bushitler”? I’m not forgetting anything.

After 9/11, Bush's approval rating shot up to close to 90%. It's true that there wasn't a lot of partisanship for a least a few weeks after that.
9/11 was just so stunning as we watched unfold live on TV that it was almost impossible to put a partisan spin on it.
This doesn’t have the same “shock value” so it’s easy for people to ignore how it’s impacting everyone regardless of political affiliation.
Doesn't matter if you like or hate our president, I saw a commercial last nite ripping on him for handling the virus. Might be me, but it seems kinda soon for that. Kinda like a comedian making fun of the virus....a little too soon. There will be plenty of time in Sept and Oct to discuss the handling of the situation.
That might be too late since he'll be bragging about how much he's done until then.
Interesting take as he parades each day to pretend he gives one shit about the people dying. He goes on Fox to rip governors for asking too much. I would expect attacks and highlights of his ineptitude to continue. Justly. I was there too in 2001. I voted for Dubya and was proud of what he was in that moment. Democrats were too. Trump is a buffoon and is a poor real leader. Politics aside, it’s not even debatable.

The difference was that everyone who hated Bush had a new person or persons to hate. The country banded together to fight against what was viewed as a common enemy.
In this case there is no person or persons to hate. So those that already hated Trump just use this shitty situation as a reason to hate him more and more. No matter how much he did or didn't do, any short comings from this awful situation were going to be painted on him by people who want him gone, especially in an election year. Justified or not, that is reality. People who support him are going to say he is doing everything he can. People who don't are going to blame him. Nothing short of finding the cure himself was going to change that.
Hey, wait a minute! Wikipedia says Brian Griese was born in 1975!
This place will be a shit show in November....

Very cool watching those little guys run, jump and play. We just had to put our almost 14 year old Boston Terrier down last weekend. As sad as we are, we really enjoy seeing other people out and about with their dogs.

I saw a clip of a different aquarium where they let the penguins run around freely. It was also pretty awesome.

Thanks for sharing! We got our pup from the Atlanta Humane Society 13 years ago and he has been such a wonderful addition to our home!

I hope they clean that place well after. Also kind of irresponsible since dogs can supposedly spread the virus. I also know of at least one poster on this board that is very allergic to dogs and has annual passes to the aquarium.
And while I get down voted pointlessly, ask yourself why they couldn't just run the animals around a park somewhere? The dogs would enjoy it more and it's a more appropriate environment. Just a stupid PR stunt.
Who in the hell hates puppies? I’m deathly allergic to cats but kittens are cute as fuck.
MgoHillbilly - I am with you on this one. I absolutely love animals, aquariums, and especially puppies. But if you would have given those dogs a squeaky chew toy in the park, or just a person to play with, they would have been the same or happier.
The fish didn't give a shit about the puppies, or vice versa. This was perhaps the most worthless video/show I have seen in a while - and that says a lot given that "90 Day Fiance" is still on the air.
More interesting/fun to see the videos of a dog and goat playing together, or a mother cat nursing puppies. Some shit like that.
When you neg MgoHillbilly, feel free to neg me as well.
PR FOR THE HUMANE SOCIETY!!!! WHAT A TRAVESTY!!!! (Clutches pearl)
And no they’re not going to clean the place. They’re just going to let any filth remain forever because a frequently visited public place like the Georgia Aquarium doesn’t have any kind of staff of supplies who deal with issues of cleanliness.
Some of us are allergic to bullshit, but you're still allowed to roam the mgoboard with impunity.
Oh don't tell me you've never farted in an elevator before.
You must be a lot of fun to hang around with.
1. I hope they clean the place well afterward, but apparently for different reasons. Puppies will pee and poop anywhere.
2. Re: virus, sure, if they've been in close contact with someone who has the virus. If not, no worries.
3. Allergies and season pass holders? Come on, man. The place is closed. It's not like they're not going to vacuum and clean the glass afterward. Also, the air filtration systems in places like this are ridiculously effective. That's just dumb.
Nope, they’re not going to clean the place at all. They’re just going to let and puppy piss and shit sit there forever.
OF COURSE THEY’RE GOING TO FUCKING CLEAN THE PLACE!
You do realize the place is closed for weeks, if not months? The only way your friend is getting in there is if he breaks in.
I’m pretty sure they’re going to sanitize the fuck out of the place before it reopens. If your friend still has a reaction from any puppy dander after that, then he/she probably should probably just live in a plastic bubble because of how weak their immune system is.
Buzzkill here. Looks like a couple puppies running around, just as they could outside. They were looking at the camera, not the fish. The penguins wandering around the Shedd Aquarium were much better than this.
Sidenote: The Georgia Aquarium is awesome. And if certified, you can SCUBA dive in the tank with the whale sharks, which I have #humblebrag.
It's cool to watch from the other side of the glass too. People have done underwater proposals there.
Needed a laugh. Thanks
The full shutdown hasn’t even been a full week. The incubation period is up to 14 days. I hope not many people think that because they stopped going places for a few days that it means they don’t already have it. That’s silly
Edited my post and moved to the appropriate thread.
My wife's work has been shut down for two weeks. She hasn't been out of the house since.
Wrong... people learning how to fuckin wash their hands, because they didn't know how until our President told them how!
March 28th, 2020 at 10:51 AM ^
I learned how to wash my hands way back when Ike was president.
Sure wish we now had someone in charge with Ike's leadership skills.
