Rashan Gary - Linebacker - Putting in Work
Super interesting on how they are going to use him, but the coach is excited about him, that's for sure. Trying to imagine him and Bush linebacking together lol. Sorry if already posted - did a search!
Packers Coach Raves about Gary
My spidey senses tell me that the shade is coming.
Lol dang!
The shade is gonna be cast from his body, looming over all he hunts down and attacks on Sundays.
He cites his athleticism and ability to disrupt the QB over sack numbers. "You've got a guy with get off and speed. He just has to learn how to use those tools." The question is why hasn't he yet in 3 years with GMatt? I'm excited for him too and I hope his immense potential finally turns into the stats to back it up.
baby shade.
100% irrefutable take: Urban Meyer hired Mattison the day after he took the Ohio State job in 2011.
Prove me wrong.
This is the kind of conspiracy I can get behind.
Oooooh, interesting take.....
Any thread on it would be destroyed, mind you, but then that's what you would expect to happen when people are confronted with a plausible alternative, right? RIGHT?
A spy in our midst...
If anyone can get more out of 3-stars and less out of 5-stars, it’s Greg Mattison.
What's that math on 4-stars...moderate development?
Mork Dantony
I wish I didn't hate the Packers so much.
But I hope Rashan tears it up there!
Thanks for writing my exact thoughts!
I can’t even imagine hating a NFL team ? Who cares ? Once you leave college you play for a contract, you play for this, you play for that. They won’t ever play for a team again.
....how about hating the lie-downs, now that makes sense!
I hate the Fords.
As a Vikings fan, hating the Packers comes very easily. Hoping the best for any Michigan guys that end up wearing the green and yellow... for 14 of their games each year
Hell yeah. Put in some work, kid!
I miss bush already.
Ask your wife to grow it back...
Oh...wait...
I ain't gonna ask my sister that. I do have SOME class.
/no politics
Wearing Clay Matthews' #52 creates high expectations. Packers are going to unleash Rashan's speed coming from multiple locations, just like Matthews did. No more Anchor end assignments just sealing the strong side edge like he did at Michigan. Rashan has a lot to learn, but that speed and size coming like Clay Matthews? QBs are not going to feel very comfy.
I have to ask: Do people really give a shit about jersey numbers and rookie expectations in the NFL?
I mean senior Devin Gardner wearing Old '98 definitely put pressure on him because of the legacy Tom Harmon leaves behind. And the #1 jersey for WRs has some cache but does the NFL really embrace jersey numbers for players who haven't been great since 2015? I seriously doubt Rashan will be judged on how well he does wearing Clay Matthews old number. Matthews won't even retire in a GB uniform...
Who is Clay Mathews? Never heard of him.
Are we still doing that legacy jersey stuff?
He'll probably be used better in the NFL.
Or maybe he will be healthy. I believe that was his biggest issue
Because it's easier to stay healthy in the NFL than in the NCAA.
It seems strange to think of him as a LB. Before his injuries, I wanted to plug him into the interior DL last year. But I'm crazy like that.
I wanted him at DT too.
This still seems like a bad idea but I’d be very happy to see Rashan absolutely crush in the NFL.
I hope Rashan finally reaches his potential in the NFL.
Packers are a good organization. As much as I should hate them as a long-suffering Lions fan, they seem to consistently figure things out and I instead respect them.
The Lions? They probably would have ruined his career.
The packers were a good organization but I disagree with that currently they have completely wasted some of the best years of the best Qb in the nfl and have drafted horribly over the course of the last 5-7 years. If Rodgers is not on that team the last three years that is a 4-6 win team every year. I’m a bears fan keep a close eye on it because I despise them almost as much as Ohio but that organization has done a terrible job putting a team around him
Throw all the NFL hatin ass shade at me. I love being a Packers fan. Very much excited for Gary.
Aaron Rodgers=phenomenal
packers=garbage
I have a hard time believing that the Packers would have Rashan Gary dropping into coverage more than 10% of pass plays. He may be a linebacker in name only, sort of like Von Miller and Khalil Mack.
That right there says it those two guys you just mentioned Gary is not even close to that level
Von Miller was rightfully a Super Bowl MVP.
Much less than 10% probably, yeah, he’s obviously not a real LB, it’s just funny he technically is.
Can only hope he makes us all proud as he goes above and beyond in the NFL.
I just don’t believe he will ever be that great. Always solid if healthy but so much hype around him and has not lived up to it yet. I am a bears fan and happy he went there cause he doesn’t scare me at all. I bet winovich has a better career.
"I bet winovich has a better career."
That would seem to be a good bet.
I still worry about his fit as a 34 OLB
Am I the only one that prefers these guys to peak while at Michigan? I’m going to be a little upset if this guy ends up a hall of famer considering what he didn’t do when he was doing it for the team I care about.
