Will it last to a second season, though?
January 26th, 2019 at 2:38 PM ^
This league seems more legit than many other pop up football leagues.

Would tune in out of curiosity to see Denard, but other than when the Bradypats are in the playoffs I have no interest in professional football or--really--pro sports, period. Had a period where I really admired the San Antonio Spurs, but that's long past. Now, if the Tigers or Pistons ever mounted a real threat, I might tune in.
Almost forgot, I watch Orlando Pride NWSL games with my daughter because it's a nice way to be together. Great family atmosphere at their games.

And the Pride, unlike the Magic, Lions, Solar Bears, and every other sports team that has ever tried to call Orlando home, actually play together as a team.

Jeremy Gallon is a WR for the Atlanta Legends
January 27th, 2019 at 3:38 AM ^
He isn't on the roster according to the team website

Love Denard, always thought he should have been a slot receiver. One of the best pure Runners I've ever seen and could read tne D when running not so much when passing though. Still another great Michigan Man, unfortunately stuck in a dark era of Michigan football he was a glimmering light

He did beat OSU

I’d love to see this league take players right out of high school. Keep college “amateur” and give the players the option of getting paid. I suspect most elite high school players would still find more value in the college route.
January 26th, 2019 at 3:02 PM ^
When elite players choose college, colleges will choose to pay elite players. That wouldn't solve a whole lot.
January 27th, 2019 at 1:29 PM ^
Well if the league doesn't sink of its own volition, it certainly well when high school kids start getting killed on the field.

Fire DeBord is back in play (Mike Martz's offensive coordinator).
January 26th, 2019 at 6:04 PM ^
The Greatest Show on Turf has Throw Rock as his OC? This does not compute even a little bit.
January 26th, 2019 at 3:23 PM ^
Is there any TV coverage for these games? I looked on their website and couldn’t find any mention of it.
I’d love to see Denard play again!
January 26th, 2019 at 3:37 PM ^
Yes. First two games will be on CBS, then on CBS Sports after that (one game per week).
January 27th, 2019 at 7:20 AM ^
Thanks!

I’m surprised he isn’t in the NFL still he was pretty productive as a backup charge of pace type but was injured. I guess whatever lead to him rolling his car into the pond while asleep at the wheel scared teams off. Hope he can get back he was one of the best pure runners I’ve ever seen.

Is the lingerie league still around?
January 27th, 2019 at 7:24 AM ^
It's called the Legends Football League now.
January 26th, 2019 at 4:26 PM ^
I don't know much about this league. Why do we need it?
What is its distinction that is supposed to make us watch it?
What about it is going to succeed where countless other leagues before it have failed?
January 26th, 2019 at 4:45 PM ^
Maybe the fact that there is no gimmicks. It's just football in the spring in cities that love football.
January 26th, 2019 at 6:00 PM ^
Yep this is professional spring league run by pros and former NFL execs. No gimmicks. Solid football. Faster games. No kickoffs and then commercial breaks.
If Gallon on Atlanta then my interest goes even higher. HAIL
January 26th, 2019 at 6:29 PM ^
The league appears to shaping up to be the minor league for the NFL. Hell, John Kitna was pouched by the cowboys from the San Diego fleet to become the qb coach. Interesting to see if guys can get picked up by NFL teams in time for OTAs
January 26th, 2019 at 6:23 PM ^
Maybe Pep could find a job in that league. Not 100% confident though
January 26th, 2019 at 6:57 PM ^
If this league lasts it'd be cool to have an expansion franchise in Ann Arbor. Spring and summer football in the big house would be fun. Also the Lions fanbase is ripe for the picking to steal fans from. If Denard and Gallon came to that team they could sell a respectable amount of tickets. Add some other recent graduates who had short careers in the NFL. Wouldn't hurt with recruiting either.

Bronson Hill went to Grand Rapids Catholic Central and Eastern Michigan. I think he held the NCAA record for yards in a game for a week.
January 26th, 2019 at 7:53 PM ^
What about the Washington Sentinels?
January 27th, 2019 at 4:59 AM ^
Only if they bring the cheerleaders.
January 27th, 2019 at 1:54 AM ^
what about the Washington Sentinels? I hear Falco has a hell of an arm...
January 27th, 2019 at 2:44 PM ^
But he hears footsteps.
January 27th, 2019 at 5:27 AM ^
Don't tell me what to do.
January 27th, 2019 at 8:40 AM ^
January 27th, 2019 at 9:27 AM ^
I will pass. I wonder how long the league even stays together?
January 27th, 2019 at 1:06 PM ^
I see so many people not even willing to give it a watch. Just because of past failures doesnt mean this wont be worth watching . The USFL was fun to watch for quite awhile . I remember seeing Bobby Hebert and the Michigan Panthers live once .
January 27th, 2019 at 2:46 PM ^
Bobby Hebert and Anthony Carter.
January 27th, 2019 at 6:56 PM ^
De'Veon Smith is on the Orlando Apollos. They play the Atlanta Legends the first game of the season. If that game is televised, maybe a worthwhile watch from a Michigan perspective.
Although, bonus points to Atlanta for having a kicker named Younghoe.
