Students leaving early: What gives?

At the game in the concourse, watching a steady stream of hundreds of students walking out the gate and down Greene St. It’s halftime.

What is wrong with you?

I am not "get off my lawn guy".  But I would cut back on student tickets.  I am sure there are plenty of fans that would appreciate the tickets.  Offer them at a price (more than students) but less than other tickets and give families or others who are budget minded a chance at season tickets for reasonable price.  Like the student section, tickets can't be transferred as to profit.  There are many families who don't attend due to cost. Maybe donate some of those tickets to .org's who are kid centric like Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Detroit PAL and maybe spark some fandom in some youth. Of course the tickets can't be sold and must be used by the .org. You could ensure this with "will call"

Let's be honest. Many of the youth attending college today don't have the zeal for sports that many of us did growing up.  Our sports culture is changing. When I went to Michigan games years ago, the student section was crazy.  It was entertaining to watch some of the antics. I would look around the stadium at end of blow out games and the student section would have a higher percentage of people still in those seats than just about anywhere in stadium.

I'm a season ticket holder as are many of the fans around me.  We were actually saying the opposite yesterday.  This was one of the best showings from the students this year from beginning to end.  I'll admit I've been disappointed a couple of times this year but not yesterday.  The other issue was that it was a blowout and with about 5 minutes to go some fans made their way out.  We have never left a game early in part because we take a pic of the final scoreboard every week.
