I don't understand why not throw, Brady had a bunch of momentum.

Onside kick needs work coach.

Note to self - when watching the game on delay, log off MGoBlog game thread. The Pats scored, huh?

Smart play by Tamme to stay in bounds.

Brady played poorly? On the road with fewer weapons and an opportunistic defense that had all opportunity taken away today. Denver was the better team but the odds were stacked against Brady coming in. Making the AFC championship with the talent surrounding Brady I would argue was quite remarkable.
January 19th, 2014 at 6:14 PM ^
Manning was easily the better QB today. His accuracy and the way he threw receivers open was ridiculous. Brady was overthrowing guys a lot.
January 19th, 2014 at 6:19 PM ^
Manning had home field
Manning had a running game
Manning had a competent defense
Manning had time to throw
Manning had an actual recieving corps
Manning had "accuaracy and threw recievers open"...well YA! There are 10 QB's in the league that would have won today in Mannings shoes.
Brady had Belicheck

Better TEAM won...

Jesus, their D is horrible. Seriously, cover someone.

Her comes the Lamar Hunt trophy that Kansas City never gets to see.
January 19th, 2014 at 7:50 PM ^
But, yeah. Maybe next year.
And why didn't New York/New Jersey have to pass two new tax issues and install a rolling roof to cover the dumb stadium hosting this year's Super Bowl (2015 was supposed to be in KC)? More thumbing the nose at Lamar Hunt.
January 19th, 2014 at 6:05 PM ^
Wow... Belichick hugging it out with Fox is very unBelichick.
Peyton is the man. Congrats to him.
Hope the next former Michigan QB wins his game.
January 19th, 2014 at 6:05 PM ^
I miss Tebow. The Pats had a way of eviscerating the Broncos when he was around.
January 19th, 2014 at 6:11 PM ^
around.
January 19th, 2014 at 6:12 PM ^
hence, I miss him.

Manning is a good guy. I'm a Brady guy, but Manning is a class act. I'll be rooting for him against whomever he plays in the Super Bowl.

I really believe our Michigan Wolverines are close.

Manning was much better today. Brady wasn't nearly as accurate.
January 19th, 2014 at 6:26 PM ^
He's saying if you give Brady Moreno, Decker, Welker, and both Thomas' he probably would have been just as accurate, and more than likely would have won.
January 19th, 2014 at 6:43 PM ^
He overthrew open receivers a number of times.
January 19th, 2014 at 6:48 PM ^
So did Peyton. The difference was that when Brady missed, it was much more obvious because of the few opportunities his WRs gave him on the day.
January 19th, 2014 at 6:45 PM ^
Heck if you just gave him Gronk back, Tom probably would have won.
January 19th, 2014 at 7:53 PM ^
However, it should be time for people to recognize the Bronco O is really, really good and they were better than the pats d. Gronk would have made a slight difference but not a winning difference.
January 19th, 2014 at 6:26 PM ^
I love Brady, but he missed a couple crucial passes today. It was unfortunately an off day for him. However, I do think Patriots were missing too many crucial pieces on defense and offense, to truely have a competetive day against the Broncos at their home. Peyton had the crowd on his side, and did anyone else notice that after almost every play, the Broncos had a defensive player on the ground hurt. If they were doing that to slow down the Patriots, which I believe they were, there needs to be something done about not letting a defense do that.
January 19th, 2014 at 6:47 PM ^
Peyton had several overthrows as well, it's just that they weren't crucial or noticed because the very next play would be yet another 15-yard gain. Manning also had way more time than Brady. I didn't see much difference in play from the QBs in this game.

In fairness, the Pats lost a lot of starters this year. You bring back Gronk, Vince Wilfork, and Jerod Mayo, and the Patriots actually probably win this game. They still need to get him a true deep threat, but injuries happen. Oh and Thompkins didn't play today either, and Talib got hurt in the first. Just loads of injuries. I see your point though, but I think getting their guys back and having a good draft is good enough. Maybe sign a good receiver so Tom has a veteran deep threat.
January 19th, 2014 at 7:57 PM ^
You bring back Ryan Clady, Vonn Miler, Kevin Vickerson, Derek Wolfe, Chris Harris, a healthier Champ Bailey and I say it would not have been close even with the other injured Patriots. Either way healthy or not the Patriots were not as good.

January 19th, 2014 at 6:53 PM ^
The Patriot injuries and "Belichick best coaching job ever" stories get recycled any year the Pats don't win it all.

Die Hard Broncs Fan here! All I can say is a Rick Flair WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I'm celebrating tonight! i love 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
January 19th, 2014 at 8:00 PM ^
Also a Die Hard Life long Bronco fan! Go Broncos! I saw Bon Jovi sitting in Krafts box. I actually thought that he co-owned an arena football team with John Elway at one point (speaking of famous people in the building)?

I would like to see Seattle make it to the Superbowl. But won't complain if the 49ers make it.
I was torn between the Pats and Broncos. I hated the Cowboys growing up so I was rooting for the orange crush in their superbowl game against Dallas. I don't mind seeing Denver in the Superbowl. Though, I would have been rooting for Brady if the Pats would have made it.
January 19th, 2014 at 9:23 PM ^
San Fran screwed out a fumble recovery. Seems like they've gotten the short end tonight.
January 19th, 2014 at 9:55 PM ^
Whoa this Sherman is a piece of work.
January 19th, 2014 at 9:56 PM ^
Congrats to the collaborative effort of the referees and Seattle you got the win as a group effort.

First time the #1 Defense and the #1 Offense meet in the Super Bowl since 1990. Should be a really good game.
January 19th, 2014 at 10:39 PM ^
anyone see sherman's postgame interview:
andrews is going to need therapy after that one. i can see why harbaugh was bragging about stanford being a cut above the rest while he was there....
MOB!
January 19th, 2014 at 10:56 PM ^
I was about as neutral as you can get throughout the game, but after watching that display, I wish I'd been pulling for the 49ers.
January 20th, 2014 at 7:47 AM ^
I was lukewarm for the Niners, and my preference for the Broncos in the Super Bowl just quadrupled.
January 19th, 2014 at 10:57 PM ^
I do not thing anyone saw it? Was it good?
