True, but it's not like Brady was turning down potential multi-million dollar contracts out of loyalty.
January 19th, 2014 at 5:49 PM ^
even though he'd waited his turn to start. And he came back to speak to the team this fall. If you didn't catch the video, do. It should answer any questions about his deep connection to Michigan, even though his treatment may have led to his low draft position (which didn't give him a multimillion dollar start). 'Course that seems to have worked out okay.
My favorite Cinderella story. So I admit to a very strong connection to Brady, being old enough to have watched him at Michigan and in the few televised preseason minutes he got to play in his rookie year. Seemed so grateful for the opportunity, and me of little faith assumed that would probably be the last we'd see of him, backing up Bledsoe and all.

Not the D coordinators fault. Denver's O is just really good.

January 19th, 2014 at 5:25 PM ^
At this rate I don't see much of a chance for a comeback. Hopefully I'm wrong and they pull out some mgic. Man I didn't think Denver's offense would handle the Patriots D like they're doing.
January 19th, 2014 at 5:27 PM ^
I am surprised that the Denver D has basically shut down NE. Its suprising when anyone does that to Brady, but this Denver D hasn't been that good all year.

Even with Talib, I thought they'd be able to control them a bit better.
January 19th, 2014 at 5:26 PM ^
How many passes have the Broncos dropped?
January 19th, 2014 at 5:28 PM ^
Looks like 3 TD drives with 2 successful onside kicks will be the only way the Pats can win.
January 19th, 2014 at 5:32 PM ^
Tom Brady did about as much as he could with the limited amount of big play talent around him on the road in mile high with the 30th ranked defense as support. The Patriots wide recievers are ordinary and the defense is not even that.
Manning played a very good game. He had time to throw and plenty of weapons. I will be curious to see what happens on a neutral field against either of the great defenses he has to face. There is no denying the Broncos assembled one of the all time great offenses and Manning played great.
January 19th, 2014 at 5:33 PM ^
If Manning has all day to throw, it's big trouble. It's too bad to see Tom Brady struggle having to play with a bunch of mediocre receivers and running backs.
January 19th, 2014 at 5:37 PM ^
I'd say the Pats possess above-average backs.
Not that it particularly showed in this game.
January 19th, 2014 at 5:36 PM ^
Gotta get the first one. Still time.
Go Pats!
January 19th, 2014 at 5:36 PM ^
They have got to start calling a delay of game on these injuries.
January 19th, 2014 at 5:38 PM ^
That is never ever going to happen. With leagues so concerned about player safety calling a penalty for delay of game would be incredibly stupid.

Fair point. Balance of the quarter and next? Just making it the series won't do it.

Hey Patriots corners....
You think maybe actually...i dunno....LOOKING FOR THE FUCKING BALL EVERY ONCE AND A FUCKING WHILE MIGHT HELP?
Just a thought.

It was a pick. Not a cheap shot. Not even close. The Patriots are known for using picks in the passing game as well so its kind of hard to flip out about the Broncos doing it also.
Also even if Talib plays the entire game that doesn't help NE scoring 3 points in the first 3 quarters.
January 19th, 2014 at 5:47 PM ^
January 19th, 2014 at 5:49 PM ^
He threw pick. Its not a cheap shot. And NE got away with a whole lot more on the throw to Thomas in the endzone. It isn't the difference in the game.
January 19th, 2014 at 5:50 PM ^
pats only had like 4 possessions all game cuz pats d couldn't keep manning off the field
January 19th, 2014 at 5:51 PM ^
That was their 8th of the game.

...never count out Touchdown Tom?
January 19th, 2014 at 5:46 PM ^
Idle thoughts on this game...
* Brady is still not in sync with his WRs. This is not surprising due to the fact that he is throwing to Julian Edleman and 3 guys who were greeters at Walmart last week.
* Pats will need to pick up some offensive Playmakers to help Brady next year. They need some big signings and draft at WR and TE.
* The NFL longest FG should come with an * due to the fact that Denver has an advantage due to the thin air.
* "Omaha...Omaha...!"

has been preying on prevent d all year. too bad he's been so mediocre against regular d for 3 quarters
