Rivals Mike says "today I think Michigan would be choice for Da'Shawn Hand" EDIT: Also Sandwiches
Ok I changed my mind, gun to head today I think #Michigan would be choice for Da'Shawn Hand. Things getting interesting.

I said as of today, still long way to go I think “@theist313: @stephenjnesbitt @rivalsmike though he wasn't making a decision until Dec?”

Couple very good sources “@bzillmer: @rivalsmike Best news I've heard all day. What made you change your mind from yesterday?”

Sorry for the ugly twitter embed. Still working on that. Since Mike Farrell has been more on the Virginia Tech side on Hand's recruitment, this would seem a good sign.
Gun to head today panera is my choice for lunch instead of jimmy john's.
You would too if you had a gun to your head.
Interesting
Potbelly > Panera > Subway > Jimmy Johns
No way is Subway above Jimmy Johns. No. Way. Turkey based ham; that's my closing argument.
edit: TURKEY BASED HAM.
The fuck.
oh and Jared is creepy.
If you really want to tell the difference, hold a piece of Subway turkey, with both hands until it is a single layer, up to the window. You will see light come through it, becuase it has a lot more fluids in it than actual meat. Now, try the same with Jimmy John's.
If you need more convincing, taste meat from both without any condiments. The only thing that is better in Subway is the fresh baked bread smell. Other than that, JJ's is a superior product. When you add in what is, at least down here, superior service, comparing Subway to JJ's is like comparing a Quarter-pounder to a burger at a place like Friday's, Chili's, or Applebees.
is which does D'S Hand prefer? And is it available in Ann Arbor?
Agree also. Subway's chicken is sketchy. Jimmy John's is legit.
Take it from someone who worked at JJ's during college, you're gonna want to rethink your praise of their meat. I couldn't eat there for 2 years after I stopped working there. It's freshly sliced (don't know about Subway but I would assume that's the case there as well), but there is plenty of unnaturalness to it.
Thus I personally don't care about their ham.
Also, I hate Mayo, which is pretty much all JJs throws on their subs.
You're ordering the wrong sandwiches. JJ's italian is delicious, as is their avocado spread. Subway is absolutely the last option in the sub world. JJ's is faster and better.
Also, if you don't want mayo, just say so. Not hard.
No Jersey Mikes???
Jersey Mikes > WG Grinders > Potbellies > Quiznos > JJ > Subway
Anyone who disagrees is wrong.
Gosh I miss Jersey Mike's. That place was delicious. Thanks for reopening that wound jerk
They've got 'em in Chicago. There's at least one downtown in the Loop on Wells Street. If you're ever in the Windy City, you can get your fix.
Or you could travel east all the way to Carpenter Rd, where there's Jersey Mike's ten mins from central campus.
Agree with Tim. Subway over JJ's? You are smoking crack. Subway's lettuce is coated in plastic - it is the only lettuce I can clearly see in my BMs.
Also, Potbelly gives my stomach the rumbles. If I had to rank those four:
JJ's > Panera > Potbelly's >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Subway
Subway's half baked cookies are worth going there. Jimmy John's are blech.
that the reason for that is Subway bakes them fresh on site. JJ has them done somewhere else, wrapped and shipped. My mother-in-law was a general manager for multiple JJ locations and their business model is very rigid and, imo, overly defined. I like the sammiches, but agree about the cookies.
Dibella's > Bellacino's/Mancino's > Potbelly
All you had to say to end this discussion is Dibellas. The best chain sub shop by far. The only people who would disagree are people who have never been.
Our office was on Eisenhower. Would goto the hospital in the AM, grab Dibellas for lunch at try to see patients in the PM with a Godfather in my gut. Absolutely delicious. Best subs in A2 IMHO.
They are in Troy and Auburn Hills as well FWIW.
They're also in Indiana, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut and all over the place in Ohio. However, since I work by the A2 airport, the Eisenhower location is my Dibella's of choice.
Also agree no way Subway > JJ's. What about Penn Station? They opened one near my office and I have yet to try it. I've heard they are not worth the cash.
but IIRC, they have only hot subs. If its a hot day, a cold sub is sometimes just what you want. They do have good fries, though.
Penn Station numerous times as I have a location close to where I live. I love their chicken salad sub. It is delicious. Also the fresh cut fries are very good.
Went to Penn Station today for lunch. I tried the monthly special roasted artichoke sub. Very good sub and bun and the fresh cut fries were also tasty. They even brought around a free chocolate chip cookie to everyone in the dining area. Not much more expensive than a "value" meal at most fast food restaurants and worth the money.
But Penn Station is good : )
So very very wrong. Granted, I should give them another try since they came out with their Bigs, but Potbelly's used to have the tiniest sandwiches. What am I supposed to do with a 7 inch sandwich? And where is Quizno's on the list? So from my outdated rankings it goes
Jimmy John's > Quizno's > Subway > Potbelly's
If we had more Penn Stations around AA, I'd be a happy guy. But Dibella's and Mancino's would rank ahead of all of these.
is Subway showing up on all these lists? Subway will do in a pinch, but including them in the company of those other places is like comparing Olive Garden to the best Italian restaraunts in town. Sorry, but no.
Olive Garden > Tebow
I attempted to go to Jersey Mike's, but they were not taking cards. I had to default to Subway. I'm regretting it, but not as much as I thought I would. EVERYTHING>Subway (which, consequently = Quizno's)
Get it with either a Shake or Chili (depending on the weather). You'll thank me.
Quiznos> all those others you mentioned.
Firehouse > Quiznos
no religion.
Between Potbelly and Panera. Although, I just had a Bacon Turkey Bravo yesterday
Is good if you have money and time to waste.
trivia: who makes jimmy johns lunch meat?
jimmy johns is only good at 2am
JJ's is always good.. but it MAY be better at 2am
