I'll get it over with before anyone asks....
-No the game is not streamed (Unless you pay for the MLB at Bat subscription)
I find your ebonics most distasteful.
Ever since the '87 ALCS travesty in that flubber-floored excuse for a ballpark, they've been at the bottom of my list.
CHI SOX.
I'm going to do this in every Tigers thread.
I'm going to get down-voted everytime.
Honestly, I like the Tigers, and I like the Mariners as well.
That makes me a terrible baseball fan. When can we have football?
if you don't talk about points. At least you're not a twins fan though
The only thing the Twins have ever done that has made me smile is make the play-offs, back in 2003(ish) when we were forced to play the Gophers on a Friday night instead of Saturday, and then John Navarre went all hey I'm going to pass for one million yards in the fourth quarter and we are going to win the game.
It makes you into what every White Sox fan I know hates more than anything...a hipster Cubs fan!
NO no no no no no please no. Baseball just doesn't do it for me.
You in Chicago currently? If so, what neighborhood? I'm in Lakeview, about a mile northwest of Wrigley. But don't let the location fool you, I'm a diehard Detroit sports guy
Nah, in Indianapolis currently. I lived in Bucktown for awhile though.
Tigers are looking solid. Timely hitting, excellent starting pitching, and the bullpen has improved since that stretch of games a week or two back when they imploded.
Oh and a series with Houston coming up soon.
Wouldn't mind seeing this every 2-3 days. Strut it out pal, strut it out.
Even more amazing than Prince's home runs (seriously, that one yesterday was basically a line drive) is how far the bat flies when he flips it. It looks like he's just putting it down until it flies ten feet out of his hands. Dude is country strong.
Dude hates the ball. Might be the angriest swing I've ever seen.
He knew it right off the bat too. Just an angry swing.
I'm very happy Sanchez was brought back. He has made the starting rotation very solid. One of the best so far in MLB.
And they're on a roll right now. 5 straight games where Tigers starters have at least pitched into the 7th inning. These guys are crazy good. And if Porcello can at least be average the rest of the way, this rotation will go down as one of the best in a long time.
I saw an interesting poll on the telecast the other night: which Minnesota sports team is the biggest rival to their Detroit counterpart (I think the options were Twins, Timberwolves, Wild, Vikings). I'd say the Twins by a longshot, followed by the Vikings, and then who cares? I don't think the T'Wolves or Wild are rivals of the Pistons/Wings at all.
FYI, Coke has been placed on the DL with a groin injury. The Tigers brought up Jose Ortega to take Coke's place. Ortega has been solid in the minors, and OK in limited MLB action last year. His line: 2 2/3 IP, 13 batters faced, 3 hits, 1 ER (a HR), 1 BB, 4 K's. This year with Toledo, he has pitched 14 innings, giving up 5 hits, 1 unearned run, with 19 K's and 7 walks.
Eat 'em up Jose!
Damn Pena has got to make that play at the plate, that was huged missed opportunity.
91 pitches through 4. Looks like our Bullpen will need to take over
and just like that its a game again!
Welp, can't win em all.
Rondon sent to Toledo, Putkonen recalled.
