Meyer Offers Dawson
ohio offers 2013 OT commit David Dawson. Will this count as a head to head recruiting win for Hoke? Thought this was good for a laugh on a Friday night.
I remember with Tressel as coach, when he offered it was a big deal for the high school kids because he offered very few recruits and expected those he offered to commit. He turned an Ohio offer into something special (unless of course you are a Michigan fan). Seems Urban is doing the exact opposite of that, this can only be viewed as a good thing.
Will Ohio fans throw a hissy fit if he destroys the mail?
I don't see (or read) that other top members of the class are getting offers at this rate. Why are they (not) and Dawson (is)?
Shane got an offer from Bama after being committed to UM for like a year.
They have like 300 scholarships available.
Other members of this class have definitely gotten offers after they commited to Michigan. The most memorable of course was Dymonte Thomas getting offered by Meyer. A lot of us were worried about that one too.
For Dawson, I think it's much more a matter of his "late bloomer" status than any sensed weakness in his commitment. Guys like Bosch and LTT already had a ton of offers when they commited to Michigan, and so there weren't a lot of schools left to offer. Dawson didn't have a lot of top offer when he went Blue. Add to that that fact that ohio is hurting for 2013 OL, and wanting to make inroads into Cass Tech, and boom, offer.
