See... I remember Mosher-Jordan having some of the better cafeteria food, though Stockwell was always the best. I even sometimes made the trip from East Quad specifically to eat at Stockwell because EQ's cafeteria was that bad.
The rumors of East Quad's poor dining have been greatly exaggerated. This RC alum ate just fine there for two years, and found the fare at South and West to be just about exactly the same.
That being said, the Halfass curly fries... Good lawd. Mix that with some disaffected youth blasting Neutral Milk Hotel, man, I'm getting all nostalgic. Spent many a meal credit down there on burgers, fries, and pints of Ben and Jerry's.
he must've eaten there after MoJo was renovated. but you're right, that place was a dump.
East Quad has an unnatural number of vegetarians and they seem to rule the place. There were times when all they had were vegetarian foods. Very frustrating especially when I was starving.
There is a zero percent chance there was ever a time when East Quad solely served vegetarian fare. Zero. Make fun of the hippie RC folk all you want, but at least be reasonably accurate about it.
I swear on all that is Ohio, every food was vegetarian.
I honestly remember the fake meat in the veggie dishes being better than the real meat. So I often hit the veggie dishes. Then I went on the meal plan where you only get a handful of meals a week, but a pile of entree plus points. I lived off the various places in the Union after that.
The only thing I miss are the M branded waffle makers.
You chose to eat at Stockwell.
East Quad was truly terrible. Absolutely horrendous, lived there freshmen year and never ate there.
which dorm is this?
Mosher-Jordan (also: Mojo, Hill Dining Center)
I miss that place. I don't miss making sandwiches for everyone on Tuesday nights, though. You're all assholes when you want a sandwich.
As an engineer, I had my share of lunches up there and was never really that impressed. I lived in Couzens hall and that place was pretty darn good, good enough to gain the freshmen 15 (although that was mostly all you can eat soft serve).
He's no different from anybody else... It's what you eat late at night that piles on the pounds. That's why most magic diet pills and weight loss plans specify that you take their pill or eat their menu at dinner and then don't eat anything else before going to bed—they know that it's the midnight pizza and the 1am fudge ripple that's the killer.
The killer isn't that you're eating the midnight pizza and 1 AM fudge ripple, it's that you're eating the pizza and fudge ripple. The time you eat the food is irrelevant.
EDIT: Reread this and I kind of came off as a dick; that is not intentional. I get what you're saying, if someone is sticking to a diet plan, then screws it up late at night, then they're obviously not going to be losing weight.
Phew! Thank goodness! Bourbon is not on your list. I'm cool.
Posting without reading should be a capital offense.
...no shitter. Behold:
@PeeWeeUofM9456 all alone right now while everyone goes out for ice cream #TeamDiet ... this diet thing hurts but i'll be ok
He is the living embodiment of Sad Panda
you can't really see his eyes in the pic. If you had gotten close enough to really see them, he would have eaten you.
In order to eat vegetables and salad, somebody has to slip me some LSD and bath salts.
That might be the only thing we have in common. Aside from the fact that we're both losers and spend too much time on MGoBlog.
No such thing!
Many employers would disagree, like Tom Blockham's boss.
eat a salad regularly... it's just mixed together as part of a hamburger, sub, pizza, ect.
I believe that would make you a cannibal, which unless you eat a complete vegan would not count as a salad. And I'm not sure about the vegan part.
Wow - had no idea we added a new dorm, North Quad. I'll assume its cafeteria and everything else are top-notch.
It's where the Frieze Building used to be.
Sad. I loved that rickety old place.
some of the ornamental pieces into the new building or used them as landscaping pieces. Nice touches, although I think they were coerced into it by a historical society.
It is, but good luck finding somewhere to sit.
It's probably the best right now. It can only seat probably around 200 so that's a big pain in the ass. Also, the portions are TINY.
Once you drop that bad weight, Coach will put you on a steak diet, my friend. Then thing'll be okay.
If it makes it any easier, I had a cup of soup and a salad for lunch. (But the soup was cheddar baked potato and I covered the salad in full-fat ranch, so...)
Low-fat salad dressing is for pussies.
And healthy people.
Stick with it Ondre!! I've lost over 100 pounds due to good diet. The process sucks sometimes (the look on his face confirms that) but it's worth it in the end.
Congrats to you, good sir. That's a lot of dietary pain and suffering to endure, but after the initial diet shock, I'm sure you've adjusted well to your new normal. Keep the spirits up and the diet healthy.
...for you, but I don't think we want Ondre to lose over 100 lbs. He makes a better DL than tweener WLB.
The plate to the left looks to be milksteak. Mmmm, nutritious and tasty!
Don't forget the jelly beans Ondre, they make the meal!
Doesn't look too bad to me......but I'm also not very picky.
If that was his whole meal, I'd feel bad for him, but he probably had 12 plates of that.
