It would only be news if couches weren't being burned there...
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:38 PM ^
It was only a matter of time.

HAHAHA it's just too damn predictable

To be honest, it's kind of comforting. Things haven't changed.

It's kind of comforting? Must be a Lazy-Boy.

for that early morning "3 hail marys" big lake fishing date fredo, er tommy!
I hesitate to say this because (1) I never post stuff like this and (2) my "source" is some guy (a good friend), but a buddy of mine who was at MSU in the early Izzo years said that it was an uncomfortable secret on campus that the basketball players always seemed to have the nicest cars around.
I went to HS with Pete Secchia's boys (Charlie & Mark). They were a year ahead and a year behind me at EGR.

you let off fireworks and light couches on fire when you win...that is just stupidity with a capital T!

this is not news, we all knew that couches were burning when the game was over simply because its east lansing and little brother was playing basketball...........

I thought this said "Coaches on fire in East Lansing". This would still have made sense.

Been checking this as well. I'm kiind of disapointed that it apparently is not being updated anymore. I was in EL for St. Paddy's Day last weekend, and there most certainly was a riot.

I don't think that actually gets updated anymore since the creator graduated and began his exciting and taxing career in panhandling.

They normally have couches on the streets of East Lansing?

They were protesting?
"... so we could not burn them."

They handled it like they've done this before. True professionals.

How can we sleep when our couches are burning?
There's still a tournament going on? I kind of lost interest when 3 of my 4 final four teams were knocked out. Two of them in the first round.

that they burn couches. Hell, whenwe lose, I'm sure many of us are that angry!
March 23rd, 2012 at 12:05 AM ^
fire.
Not once.
And I am, quite possibly, the angriest person I know.
March 23rd, 2012 at 12:33 AM ^
I have burned a couch, but not out of anger. It was the day before my semester was over and we had to move out and we couldn't find anybody that wanted the couch. There was a fire-pit in our backyard so we burnt it. It was pretty cool and thought that it's a shame to do this when you are inebriated and angry, then you can't enjoy it.

Anyone else disappointed that an engineer couldn't figure out how to light a wet couch on fire?
March 22nd, 2012 at 11:27 PM ^
Disappointing, but not unexpected.
March 23rd, 2012 at 12:29 AM ^
they don't cover that in their world renowned package engineering program...

This made me laugh. Well played, sir.

As a former student there, this is depressing at least they used to riot when they lost in the FF. Now in the Sweet 16? Pretty soon they'll be rioting over a preseason NIT loss.
March 22nd, 2012 at 11:03 PM ^
If my taste for schadenfreude is met, they'll be burning couches over a postseason NIT loss soon.
