February 25th, 2012 at 9:49 PM ^
to have some advance notice of the hazardous conditions ahead.
February 25th, 2012 at 9:46 PM ^
Great info. I have to ask, though, what's Aquaman's situation on staff? I thought these were done for mgoblog now or something.
February 25th, 2012 at 9:49 PM ^
The exact details have yet to be worked out still as Brian has been busy lately.
February 25th, 2012 at 9:51 PM ^
Awesome, I can't wait to officially have you on staff.
February 25th, 2012 at 9:50 PM ^
Also, as a fellow Isaac I feel for this guy. It's two A's, not two S's.
February 26th, 2012 at 9:47 AM ^
So you're related to him ? cool...are you jealous that the family likes him more than you ?
February 25th, 2012 at 9:50 PM ^
So we can expect a commitment on the 10th then? I don't know if I can wait that long! It would be nice to get him and Treadwell locked up so that they can focus on the defensive front seven.
February 25th, 2012 at 9:53 PM ^
He has to be impressed with all the OL we are having commit. It'd be nice if he committed on the spot. Ah, to dream.
February 25th, 2012 at 9:56 PM ^
He needs to get it over with, I've been saying he's the best players/team fit in college football recruiting. He'd be foolish to pass up this opportunity, and I think he knows that. It's almost redundant to say this now, but my God, look at who he'd be running behind in 2 years?
February 25th, 2012 at 10:04 PM ^
I've seen you on this board posting now quite a lot and like what you have to add. I do have a question as far as the Bama vs Michigan game next fall, are there any 2012 freshmen on Bama's side that we might see some sort of playing time from?
February 25th, 2012 at 10:16 PM ^
Well, this is pure speculation, and this will be based upon just word of mouth at this point. That being said however:
Landon Collins will see the field, due to the loss of several players in the defensive backfield
T.J. Yeldon-The kid has a body structure that is ready to carry the ball in the SEC, and we all know how talented he is.
Chris Black- If he pulls his head out of his ass, he should see the field.
Amari Cooper- Ready to contribute now
Eddie Williams (Of course)- The guy can do so much, you'd be hard pressed to keep him off the field
Brandon Green- Big thick kid, could see a rotation at right tackle
Alabama is simply loaded right now, so it's hard to speculate who will play. Saban is tough on his freshies, but he also gets the most out of them.
Also, I love Dakota Ball, but he'll need a RS year. Denzell Devall has been getting a lot of buzz, so that's a name too. Cyrus Jones is VERY talented, and he'll see the field, I'm just not sure how much production we'll see.
February 25th, 2012 at 10:26 PM ^
You know I would like to think how good it is for us that so many freshmen might see the field for you guys, but you have so much talent that honestly it's probably not going to be that much of a difference. So what would you consider your strengths going into the game? I'd say right now M's is Denard, RB, and OL. Honestly I am not sure what on our defense will be a strength. I think we have some talented players on defense, I just am not sure who continues to develop. I think Countess takes a big step forward this year, and Kovacs is definitely a strength as well. As for weaknesses, I think we may have trouble finding a playmaker at receiver, and I am worried about the center of our Dline.
February 26th, 2012 at 12:54 AM ^
I'm taking notes... I want to impress the in-laws in Florence next Thanksgiving with my deep knowlege of Bama football.
February 25th, 2012 at 9:57 PM ^
If we're following our recent trend in recruiting, visit=commitment. They have become synonmous.
February 25th, 2012 at 10:01 PM ^
I am with tide on this, I think Isaac knows this is the best place for him. I would not be shocked if he commits on the 10th.
February 25th, 2012 at 10:01 PM ^
February 25th, 2012 at 10:14 PM ^
Yes, we'd get someone else...but I still really, really want Isaac to commit. His highlight video is football bliss.
February 25th, 2012 at 10:04 PM ^
I am expecting a commit on that day.GO BLUE!!!
February 25th, 2012 at 10:04 PM ^
Would love to see LTT, Bosch, Shallman and Shane make the trip to AA that weekend as well. Nothing like getting to know the guys who will be blocking for you and handing the ball off to you to get a commit to pull the trigger.
February 26th, 2012 at 1:55 PM ^
That would be huge to get those guys on campus with him. I'd like to see all the o-lineman make the trip to help recruit him.
February 25th, 2012 at 10:07 PM ^
I thought that Colin McGovern is also visiting on the 10th, is that still on?? If he does that would seem to signal that we will take another OL. Who else is slated to be visiting that weekend??
February 25th, 2012 at 10:12 PM ^
I'm talking with Colin tomorrow. I'm interested to hear what he has to say although my guess is that his interest in Michigan will wane with the five guys they've picked up along with the great offer list he has.
February 25th, 2012 at 10:07 PM ^
What about DT? Anyone know who we "should" end up getting? Obviously there are wishlist guys, but who has Michigan high on their list and have a pretty good shot of ending up here?
Sorry about off topic, not sure how long I have to wait before I can post my own topic...
February 25th, 2012 at 10:10 PM ^
100 points till you can start your own thread I believe.
February 25th, 2012 at 10:09 PM ^
I know UVs aren't set in stone but I thought he was visiting ND, UM, and USC (in that order). We just had a guy commit on the same day he was suppose to visit MSU, so it could happen.
February 25th, 2012 at 10:15 PM ^
Not just for the fact that we lead with Isaac and Treadwell. I'm just dreaming about Vanderdoes, Levenberry, O'Daniel, Cravens, and Fuller on the Defense too. Chance that I think we get all of them: 1%. Anyway, one can dream.
Current percentages (IMO) for all the guys I just mentioned based on publically available info and no inside knowledge:
Ty Isaac: 75%
Treadwell: 50%
Vanderdoes: 15%
Levenberry: 65%
O'Daniel: 55%
Cravens: 15%
Fuller: 15%

Ty Isaac: 76.3748493922%
Treadwell: 48.3433430293%
Vanderdoes: 13.9393939393%
Levenberry: 65.0123232334%
O'Daniel: 54.99339349495%
Cravens: 12.122424232%
Fuller: 12.8595969654%

I'd like to see some regression analysis and z scores, but oh well.
February 25th, 2012 at 10:25 PM ^
Confidence Intervals or GTFO
February 25th, 2012 at 10:27 PM ^
Why so low on Treadwell?? I think he's pushing 60. I also like our chances with Vanderdoes more than Fuller. He seemed pretty excited for our offer. And hasn't Levenberry named us as his leader, whereas Ty Isaac has said only that we're in his top group?
February 26th, 2012 at 12:19 AM ^
Ty Isaac has not only said we were in his top group, but was very adamant about UM making the cut when he does narrow his list down. Strangely enough he couldn't name any other schools when asked. Quote from Tremendous update:
He wants to start narrowing things down. He's down to a top five that includes Michigan, but he doesn't have a number one. He said he was working on determining who the other schools were but wasn't specific as to who they actually were.
Call me optimistic but to me it seems we are his leader

I have Isaac slightly higher at Ty Isaac: 76.3748493923%

I hate to hijack a thread, but I'm wondering what the '3-star mafia' meme is. What does that mean? Is it that if we recruit too many 3-stars, the 3-star mafia will come and get us? Was it that Rich Rod was building a 3-star mafia of sleepers?
February 25th, 2012 at 10:41 PM ^
I've been lurking here since just after the coaching search began last year, and as far as I can tell, the "3 star mafia" refers to the fact that RR tended to get lots of them to commit pretty early in the process, so we'd be left with a "3 star mafia" for our recruiting class. Someone else with more knowledge can of course correct me if I'm wrong

February 26th, 2012 at 8:16 AM ^
What pressure? Isaac knows that he is our top prospect on our board, and therefore, we will leave a spot open for him as long as it takes.
February 26th, 2012 at 12:31 PM ^
I'd be shocked if he committed on the 10th.
February 25th, 2012 at 10:30 PM ^
February 26th, 2012 at 1:47 PM ^
Eh, doubtful. And Pro-style guys can do well in spread style offenses, especially if the offense is tweaked. Think Minor, just without the nagging injuries.

February 25th, 2012 at 10:37 PM ^
Is Joliet Academy a ND feeder school and have we previously had any success pulling kids from there to Michigan?
Snaggin him from the likes of ND and USC would be fantastic.
February 25th, 2012 at 11:07 PM ^
February 26th, 2012 at 8:18 AM ^
Fortunatly, ND is due for a bad year this year and USC is under heavy probation. I like our chance. Just give him time
February 25th, 2012 at 10:51 PM ^
Lets do it!!!
February 25th, 2012 at 11:23 PM ^
If he commits on the 10th, then who will his buddy be? Dukes is buddied up with Kugler, so Isaac has to have someone lined up to keep the trend going or does the staff have someone in mind already?
February 25th, 2012 at 11:52 PM ^
Treadwell.
February 25th, 2012 at 11:55 PM ^
Thats what I'm Talking about!!
