An Interview with Jehu Chesson
TTB Andrew did an interview with Jehu Chesson last week. He talks about the #1 jersey, his relationship with Amara Darboh, and the fact that the coaches want the 185-pounder to be up around 215 eventually.

I am so impressed with Mr. Chesson's attitude and outlook on his football future and beyond. I am really excited to see him and Mr. Darboh burst on the scene this fall. I think they will push each other to greatness. It's also good to hear that another recruit has some explosion in the kick return game.

That is one intelligent and perceptive young man.

I'm very impressed with how mature this kid is at this stage of his life. He will more than fit the standards of what a Michigan football player is all about. Hoke not only knows how to bring in talented kids, but he also brings in kids with tremendous character. Hats off to him and the coaching staff.

Does anyone know if he lives with his original parents or was he adopted like Amarah? Hopefully we have a Braylon-Avant type duo in the near future.

Very impressed with the core values of the recruits we are after. Team chemistry is something Michigan will have for years to come.

The more I watch Chesson's film, the better I like him.

I think he really improved from his junior to senior seasons. I was lukewarm on him when he originally appeared on Michigan's radar, but his senior highlights were impressive.

In reading the aritilce on TTB, there is mention of Jehu running track and lists his time in the 300m Hurdles at 37.44. I looked up last years large school (class 3A) champion in that event here in Illinois and found that 37.60 won the state meet. So, I thought.....wonder how Jehu did at the Missouri High School State Finals....1st place!
300mH-36" | 11 | Jehu Chesson II | 37.44 |
Anyone that knows a little about T&F knows that the 300m Hurdles is a very tough race and usually the guys running those kind of times have an excellent blend of speed, strength and toughness. All very good attributes for a WR at Michigan.
BTW, RGIII ran the 300m Hurdles in High School...pretty darn fast as he was only one-hundredth of a second short of breaking the national high school record. He also ran the 400m Hurdles for a time when he arrived at Baylor, until football took over his time in the spring.

Yep. I think some people have underestimated how explosive Chesson can be. He should be able to stretch the field for us, and at 6'3" and 215 lbs. . . . that's a lot of area he can cover with his leaping ability.
