One of those rebounds was…

One of those rebounds was Levert, who was literally positioned horizontally to the ground, AND managed a kickout to Stauskus in the corner.  It was an awesome sequence.

I hate that we lost the Elite 8 game to Kentucky in 2014.

LIV and PGA are about to become one in the same anyway.

Scheffler is innocent until…

Scheffler is innocent until proven guilty.  And maybe they will dismiss the charges.  But the overwhelming sentiment that he is the victim of something at this point just does not compute with me.

Thar has not been my…

Thar has not been my experience with police officers.

Look, it is just not a reasonable conclusion that a group of police officers freaked out and cooked up charges against a famous and highly regarded golfer at the entrance to a major championship venue.  It does not make sense.

Really?With very few…

Really?

With very few exceptions, almost all of the police officers I’ve met in my life were professional and reasonable people.

I like Scotty Scheffler.  But find it highly unlikely that Scotty Scheffler did nothing wrong and is being charged with a felony because some cop was an asshole.

That, to me, seems like the very odd take here.

Huh?  Nobody here knows what…

Huh?  Nobody here knows what happened.  He’s being charged with a felony.  That doesn’t sound like nothing.  What would a cop have to gain by creating this situation out of thin air?

That doesn’t seem to be the…

That doesn’t seem to be the case.  He is being charged with Felony Assault on a Police Officer.  The police are pretty sure he did something wrong.

Edwards just struggles to…

Edwards just struggles to see where the lane is.  When he finds it he is as explosive of a back I have seen in college since Reggie Bush.

Yeah, he fades on the…

Yeah, he fades on the weekend a lot like Rickie Fowler always did.  Neither seem to have that next gear to really take command of a golf tournament.

I need to borrow my kids' PS5 headphones so that I feel like I am actually a coach on the sideline with my headset on.  I actually do that and I am not embarrassed about it at all.

I create a fake backstory for myself also.

I think the 2027 game will…

I think the 2027 game will probably happen but I doubt there will still be non-conference games by 2030 that are not in a playoff.

Wow.  How long was I passed…

Wow.  How long was I passed out?

We are really short on wide…

We are really short on wide receivers.  Moore, Morris, Morgan, ???????????????????

I thought that was going to be a portal focus for sure.

Yes.  We won a national…

Yes.  Michigan won a national title in 1997 with a middling offense.  At times it struggled to be middling.  Before Moore went down I thought this defense could be as good or better than the 1997 defense, with era-dependent caveats.  I still think it is going to be a really good group, but I think the Moore loss was a pretty big kick in the nuts.

I don't think you can do an…

I don't think you can do an apples to apples comparison with the Michigan offense of the last couple of years if Orji is going to be the QB.  3rd and nine will be a big problem but the entire goal will be to avoid 3rd and nine from occurring.  I think Orji will run the ball on the order of 12-15 times a game and the offense will look like kind of a modified version of a triple option.  You can't substitute McCarthy with Orji and just run the same thing.

I think Michigan had a shot…

I think Michigan had a shot at the national title until Moore's injury.  He is a great safety and was going to be a difference maker.  I know they have other dudes but not with his combination of talent and experience.  The offense is going to be middling and heavily dependent on the run with basically a completely new o-line.  The defense needed to be dominant.  Without Moore I think they will be very good but not quite dominant.

Yeah, if the conference…

Yeah, if the conference tells Michigan it is playing on a Friday, Michigan is playing on a Friday. Warde can write a strongly worded email if he wants but they will play when the game is scheduled.

BIG Friday night games *were* a thing for one glorious Friday night in Minneapolis in 2003.

This is very true.  Went to a night basketball game last year.  Nothing around that area is lit well enough.

There is surprisingly (to me…

There is surprisingly (to me at least) a pretty significant group on here who do not like 3:30 starts.  Perhaps it is because one of the last ones of any consequence that Michigan played was 2015 MSU.

Thanks.  That run down helps a lot.

If the most recent re-organization does one thing, I would really like to get Michigan on a couple of those CBS 3:30 games.  I really miss 3:30.  Mid-October when the day becomes dusk early third quarter and then all the way night by the end of the game.  [Chef's kiss]

And I am definitely NOT thinking about the Manningham game against Penn State right now. I promise.  Ha.

Not always, but a lot of…

Not always, but a lot of time that one week makes a pretty big difference.  Labor Day is still Capitol S-Summer, but that following week can change a lot.  We have an unheated pool and last year swam all of Labor Day weekend but it was out of the question the following weekend.

I have completely lost the…

I have completely lost the plot on determining who gets what pick in what week.  For the most part I always just assume the Michigan game is going to be in the slot that is the most difficult for me to watch and then allow myself to be pleasantly surprised if not.

I actually don't hate this. …

I actually don't hate this.  I feel like there is so much going on Labor Day weekend with family/friends/school prep etc. that I cannot really get to football during the day anyway.  I would hate this if Week 3, like Bowling Green this past year, but on opening weekend I don't mind this.  Could be sweltering too and this could cool it down a bit at least.

I took my son to Somerset…

I took my son to Somerset this past December for the meet and greet with Corum, Loveland, Moore, Johnson, et. al.  Anybody who there and was not a fan of Michigan football before was by the time they left. The players' understanding of program and team outreach with fans was more advanced than most professional players.  Zak Zinter was there on crutches for crying out loud.

They took what easily could have been a swing and a miss and a bad car ride home into something my son will remember forever.  Very impressive folks.

Wait a minute.  All mentions…

Wait a minute.  All mentions of his criminal allegations have been removed from the discussion along with any response posts?  Weak MGoBlog. Weak indeed.

My favorite memory of D-Mo…

My favorite memory of D-Mo in hoops is his determination not to let the Duke game get away from us.  They had a lead hovering around 8-14 for nearly all of the second half and without fail he would make a play that kept us in it until we could make a real push.  This included a Jordan-esque fadeaway and a couple of absolute dimes to J-Mo for flushes.  He deserved to have that floater fall to tie it but the basketball gods were just not having it.

Not sure your point here. …

Not sure your point here.  Nobody here is sentencing Darius Morris to eternal damnation, and yes we are all sinners.  But pointing out that him beating a woman half way to death impacts our opinion of him doesn’t seem like a shocker.

I've never seen that clip before.  I am sitting here at work just laughing out loud with everybody wondering what is wrong with me.

The groaning.... that actually happened a lot teaching my son to drive, from both of us.

It also speaks volumes that I really wouldn't want the current presidential crop to speak at my kids high school graduation.  Like "thanks but I think we are going to go in a different direction."

My older son gained the…

My older son gained the ability to drive but lost the ability to reason at exactly the same time.  There are times I just look at him with complete confusion as to what, if anything, he could possibly be thinking.

Wait until 10th grade, 15…

Wait until 10th grade, 15 going on 16.  It is impossible to overstate how stupid and insane kids become at that precise age.

Did they play Macho Man's entrance music?

Get a room.

Get a room.

It's a good point.

It's a good point.  Although I will say that I don't think Tschetter is incapable of developing a method of defending wings.  He would certainly be a footspeed disadvantage but he is long.  He could mold himself into "disruptive" at a minimum I think.

I think I kind of disagree…

I think I kind of disagree that Tschetter emphatically could not play in the mold of a wing, at least on offense.  In fact, his best fit offensively is in kind of in a 3 and shaky-D role with some rebounds here and there, ala college Duncan Robinson.  He played the role that he did last because that was a complete perversion of a basketball roster, but I see him more as a wing-ish substance than a "big man."

Yeah, he was a nice get.  It…

Yeah, he was a nice get.  It does not move the needle for me though.

I can listen to baseball on…

I can listen to baseball on the radio, but I seriously cannot watch it.  A live baseball game "pops" with excitement and you can see how incredible of athletes they are, but the product does not carry over to the screen at all.  Yankees-Sox 9th inning in Game 6 of the ALCS,  yeah, that can be watched.  But the everyday 1:05 Tigers game against some other team is absolutely not watching material.  On the radio, during yardwork or on the commute home?  Sure.  But not on the TV.

We have won 1 out of the…

We have won 1 out of the last 7, and most of them were completely lopsided blowouts.

Arizona owns Michigan in…

Arizona owns Michigan in basketball.  Arizona has had our number going back to 1995. The Fab Five almost even lost to UCLA in the second round on Arizona's floor.  We need to break the cycle at some point.

He's an odd fellow.  I have…

He's an odd fellow.  I have never seen him acknowledge emotion or discuss any connection with people, things, or places in a manner that appears as a genuine expression of feelings. Clearly I don't know Chris Webber but his emotional affect seemed to stop in its tracks at The Timeout and he seemed completely unrelatable after that.

He also went from seemingly having a burning desire to win to not particularly caring all that much.  His game also went from power and will to finesse and almost aversion to contact. The Chris Webber that played in college never played in the NBA.

Touche'

Yeah, you WILL take your chances...

I don't think it is a false…

I don't think it is a false equivalency but I still disagree with it.  What is being weighed is not the scope of the hardship endured by a substantively bad law, but the degree of upheaval that would result in intellectual abandonment of the principle that for laws to exist or mean anything, they have to be enforced as a matter of principle or order would be impossible in any social ecosystem.  In fact, adherence to such a principle is a prerequisite to even conclude that certain acts or omissions are wrong, in principle.  We are in serious chicken-or-egg territory.

I flag him for unsportsmanlike-intellectual-shortcut, ten yards with opportunity to amend the take as necessary.

That cannot be applied…

That cannot be applied universally, so you really cannot treat it as a maxim or you could be retroactively punished for something that was not illegal or against the rules at the time. Consistency in application is Rule 1 for any law or rule that is going to last or be accepted or there are no rules and that is not sustainable. Exceptions should be very limited in scope and subject to critical inquiry.

I don't really disagree with…

I don't really disagree with the sentiment here, but really targeting Bush out of that entire Death Row-records RICO enterprise at USC during that time is pretty ridiculous.  Either vacate everything from 2002-2005 or blissfully pretend it was something different from what it was, but don't just take this completely random and token action against one dude and call it good.
